  1. Where is the evidence of this? Who are the payroll providers who are “deliberately conspiring to ignore the law”? – “Payroll providers knew they were ignoring this requirement. The conspiracy to ignore the law was deliberate”
I respect the work that Mike Treen does on behalf of workers but this sort of click bait comment does nothing to add credibility to his argument.

  2. So I was short payed holiday pay from an employer. But they ignored my emails to pay it. So what can I do about it? If anything? As it happened a few years ago..

      1. I’m guessing he is not a union member, so what to do then?

There is a need for a walk in union type advice centre that could help people for a small fee perhaps?

For many reasons including the change of work and government intervention, unions have been marginalised. However I don’t think unions are really changing their own work offerings to workers for the new gig/contract economy/part time work with multiple jobs, where people don’t have permanent work anymore.

Also think there is a need for a tenancy tribunal style employment court that bans lawyers for small disputes under $12,000. The problem with the main employment court is that it is slow and can take years and cost a lot of money, that workers can’t afford.

If these employment firms can’t work out the pay correctly, how can an ordinary person work out their pay?

Help is needed in this area.

    1. Even if you don’t belong to a union, seek the help of any union and I’m sure they’ll assist you.

  3. That means all holiday pays are calculated incorrectly if they are suppose to include allowances for eg like mileage money.
