I don’t ‘get’ Paddy’s podcast, ‘This is the fucking news’.
Firstly because it’s quite an aggressive title, but secondly it’s a ‘positive’ news podcast (because positive news has always been a ratings winner?) with such an aggressive title, which all comes across as passively aggressively confused, which ironically is the offical editorial policy on Stuff, passively aggressively confused.
But what the fuck do I know? I only host the gold award winning The Working Group podcast.
Anyway.
Paddy’s latest offering where he gives Amanda Luxon the kind of uncritical love only Fox News reserves for Trump was so weird I openly wondered if Paddy was smoking weed, but weed would never change someones critical understanding of the universe to the point they heaped praise on a privileged white women providing glib bullshit answers about how mean people are while her husband promotes race war hate and slashes welfare and public services.
Only meth with acid could cause that level of cognitive dissonance.
Thankfully I was saved by Steve Braunias who reviewed Paddy’s weird praise of Amanda Luxon in the most joyfully cruel manner it made the anniversary of the crucification of the little Baby Jesus far more easy this year.

Amanda Luxon. I mean what can you say. Easter is a good time to publish my latest reckons at Stuff because without exaggeration or making too much of things, Amanda Luxon walks among us like Jesus but probably with better shoes.

After a recommendation, I started listening to Amanda on Petra Bagust’s podcast Grey Areas and could not stop.
…go over and read it, it gets gloriously crueller and crueller.

Look, Paddy can’t help having a face only a mother could love…but he can definitely do something about crawling up the ruling classes arse–like not doing it–but perhaps so many journalists have been sacked in the last few years, some of them now see becoming sycophants as their survival ticket.
Amanda is an airhead with a nasty edge, just like Mr Baldrick “luxury” Luxon himself.

I’ve heard of Christians washing peoples feet as an act of humility, but talking to Gower is taking it way too far.
Tess Tickles. Popes – RIP Papa Francis – wash people’s feet, on Maundy Thursday I think, as an act of humility, the origin of which I forget, but pride caused Lucifer’s downfall. It’s a terrible sin, the sin of pride, but Gower looks devoid of any pride toadying to the PM’s lawful wedded and a nation-wide cringe is sort of understandable in such grotesque circs.
OMG – I’ve just turned it off. No one who has that sort of wealth is deserving of the title ‘a decent human being’ frankly!
