One element in the intelligence community said they believe the first human infection was probably the result of a laboratory-associated incident. This likely involved experimentation, animal handling or sampling by the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“These analysts give weight to the inherently risky nature of work on coronaviruses,” the report states.
This assessment is classed as “moderate confidence”, meaning the analysts believe the underlying information is plausible and comes from credible sources.
Well, well, well. So the lab leak is plausible?
The deep suspicion of China is legitimate.
We know there were embassy cables warning Trump that the Wuhan Lab was a safety risk.
We know US Intelligence picks up a pandemic in November.
We know the lab was experimenting on the virus and that scientists have now cast suspicion on the virus having been tampered with.
Because of the prevalence of these types of labs and with human error factored in, there is an 80 percent chance of a a dangerous pathogen escape every 12.8 years.
We know lab staff suffered symptoms exactly like Covid a month before the first case in December.
Well, when you’ve got around $10,000,000 been given as funding by certain of the Americans,…to a Chinese bio lab? And that lab was ‘interested in’ working with corona viruses, and that prior to that its host was an animal yet somehow jumped to humans, does kind of cast a shadow…viruses do jump species regularly, but this seems a little contrived.
Scientific research works across borders all the time.

But there is suggestion, worthy of investigation, of China telling WHO everything is fine, while buying up huge quantities of PPE!

China will help Trump regain credibility by refusing to allow any independent inquiry into the lab leak theory and continuing to threaten Taiwan.
The fact is the USA has this weird presidential election setup that means the majority of voters are ignored, masses of potential voters do not go to the effort, and any nut job with enough money or influence can be elected.
Be afraid.
No result. No deliberate leak. Not biological warfare. All theories still on the table. Meanwhile under the table China is the only major power that has handled the pandemic with the elimination strategy, and facing a global economic meltdown, finds its economy still humming.
What other country in the world can claim to have success by aiming for zero Covid and still keep the economy afloat? That’s right.

Actually Richard you will note that I was very vocal at the start of this by pointing out the mathematical possibility of accidental lab leak using sources anyone would categorize as left.
My wider issues are climate change and if the jump is zoonotic it proves my point this is part of a climate crisis reality.

This long and very detailed analysis from Nicholas Wade does not provide conclusive proof that Covid 19 originally escaped from a lab in Wuhan. However it does ask some very pertinent questions.

Well, certainly it could have because it has not been proved not to have. As pointed out, the likelihood of lab incidents are not zero. So, if it did escape from a lab in China, what would that mean? Also for science and labs all be over the world. Probably no scientist or government wants covid to be an escapee from a lab.
When all said and done, who gives a fuck how it happened… It did, and now we are stuck with dealing with it. I’m fully prepared to accept that there was American money involved in financing the “research” that was going on in Wuhan.. After al, the yanks haven’t managed to hide the fact that they have been extensively involved in germ warfare “research” for decades already… What we should be angry about is that the Americans, while trump was president, refused to be honest about what they knew long before it became too late to stop it spreading around the world… We are all now at risk because of nothing more than party political stupidity, as practiced by reactionary governments around the world….
