Shouldn’t we as Kiwis be deeply ashamed at the State & Church abusing 250 000 kids?
In November, Prime Minister Chris Luxon will deliver an official apology to all those abused in State care.
He will make this apology after restarting military boot camps that research shows don’t work and only add to more state abuse.
Historically 250 000 kiwis were abused by the State and Church, the staff filming and organising last years fight clubs in the Oranga Tamariki youth prison had 2 weeks training – underfunded public services are still abusing Kiwis today!
The NZDF didn’t want to run these boot camps and Minister Karen Chhour didn’t work with any Māori organizations to help design them – DESPITE 9 of the boys in the first 10 being Māori.
Critics claim this is nothing more than a $5million virtue signal – wouldn’t that $5m be better spent elsewhere?
Not according to right wing Kiwis, they want more suffering, more pain and more Mega Prisons!
Findings of the Royal Commission on Abuse in State care suggest that 80-90 percent of gang members were victims of abuse.
If we don’t want more organised crime, perhaps the State should stop manufacturing gang members.
Shouldn’t we be collectively ashamed of this?

I was just thinking this morning about the abuse of the elderly in care unless you have a good nest egg and can afford to pay top dollar.
Even then my knowledge is taken from the experience of a friend who was paying $6k per month for care. The facility was top class, the food was good, the majority of the carers were doing their best but there were not enough so the residents were dumped in lounges or left in their rooms unattended for hours at a time.
In the wing next door where the poor people were there were less staff, the facilities were poor and the food was terrible. Again the carers generally did there best but just cannot cope. This leads to neglect and abuse by poorly trained overwhelmed staff.
I see this morning Luxon is considering moving into Government House after $380k has been spent on a Reno. Where is his compassion and who does he care about.
I also notice apart from Minister Chour their has been no comment on the commission findings from the people who pull Luxons strings.

This corrupt government are going to interfere with the courts decision by introducing legislation to overturn the court of appeals ruling.
That is corruption of the highest order and once and for all proves this government a dictatorship.
They are serial abusers not only physical but of power.
Parliament changes law when it doesn’t like the way the Courts have interpreted it. The reasonable justification is that Parliament is elected and Judges aren’t. What you call corruption isn’t. It’s the way the constitution is supposed to work.

My daughter works at the local prison where she gets to talk to prisoners daily and 75% of them admit to being abused as a child .One even recounted how he had no idea how to raise his 4 kids because he had never known life without abuse .His story was very confronting for her because it was the first time anyone had recounted his life to her in that way .
