  1. They would improve Morning Report by replacing both presenters, neither Ferguson nor Espiner have the intelligence to be effective, subtle, impartial interviewers – all noise and no light. In an election year especially, listeners expect more than silly repetitive shouting. There must be people out there who could do better.

    1. Maybe Morning Report could bring back that impartial flag supporting wanker Plunket …. not
He at least was an obvious Key arse licker

  2. yep, good on RNZ for pounding the likes of “Key Love” Club founder, and life President, Hosking, into ratings dust

they have laid off many old time staff and those that remain are suffering under an oppressive sinking lid, the RNZ web site has been updated and is a reasonable news source, but unrecompensed younger staff dedication cannot be expected to last for too much longer (which is what the torys want I guess, starve them into submission)

    time to reinvigorate “Save RNZ!”

  3. Kim Hill remains for me the best interviewer to have presented on Morning Report. I will never forget her “that was a bit silly Prime Minister” to John Key. He had no comeback!

  4. While I am critical of RNZ at times, at least they report a lot of news that matter, but which other radio or TV media never report on.

For that very reason it offers better service overall and better quality service. Consequently they deserve to get a boost.

The reason for the government’s tight purse police on RNZ is of course, that the government would rather not have RNZ report such things as this:

‘Emergency housing providers instructed not to talk to media’:
