  1. Under funding of healthcare not to mention increasing inequality is the new norm in NZ sadly and its as always the innocent and vulnerable who pay the price. This is why I oppose the current neo liberalism of most of NZ’s political establishment. Time to return to Socialism and a fairer more caring society that looks after everyone.

  2. Yes Sean your right but someone needs to tell soimon and the national government cause every time they get in power their policies exacerbate poverty and inequalities and they blame the people suffering for making the wrong choices in life but what about the children national don’t care they car only about money and wealth for themselves and there own

  3. Free birth control would help solve many problems . Those who restrict their family to 2 or 3 should have free medical and dentistry up to 16 which comes with the obligation of allowing vaccinations and school attendance

I believe that birth control is already free, at least for beneficiaries. It may also be free for people on low incomes: community services card territory.

Dentistry is still free for young people up to their 18th birthday, no matter how many kids one has.

And GP visits are free for under-14s, no matter how many of them one has. See this:

      https://www.health.govt.nz/your-health/services-and-support/health-care-services/visiting-doctor-or-nurse/zero-fees-under-14s

Making vaccinations and school attendance compulsory? Hmm….good luck with that. Even the relatively well-heeled cannot always be persuaded to do those things.

A substantive lift in benefit levels is the one thing that will make a real difference. The poor are – er – poor: that’s the real problem.
