  1. TV3 News last night described Hipkins statement that lobbyists have no greater access to parliament than any other citizen as “absolute tosh”, adding that lobbyists have their own security swipe cards to get in!

That’s about as close as any media organization can get to directly calling him a liar.

  2. PHARMAC could probably extend funding of a medicine to another indication or maybe even a rare disorder if didn’t spend as much on PR. Funny how the “envy of the world” needs lots of PR. Probably because it is BS. And they say pharma companies lobby the government. PHARMAC lobbies the public

  3. Pleased to see this get its own post.
I couldn’t believe how little interest there was yesterday

Wrong on so many levels, not the least of which is the duplication with in-house spin doctors, but also the manipulation of the 4th Estate, and delving into private lives.
Pigs at the trough, the revolving door, etc.
Joe Public doesn’t really like seeing public money pissed up the wall, especially when they’re doing it tough.
And then you can be sure gNactoids will be taking advantage of it. ”

There’ll be more to come. MUCH MORE.

This is the sort of shit that also killed the RNZ/TVNZ merger.

  4. Lobbyists need to be registered and revealed who they are lobbying for. Modern facilities should be used to record the submissions to Ministers and made available on the internet. Then people can check for falsehoods, distortions, manufactured doubt, and omission of facts.
I have found few Ministers (and opposition MPs) to engage on issues. You get thanks and a diversion to somebody else, never to answer.

    1. Your dislike of National and it leader should not make you blind to the wrong that is being exposed . I am sure National and all other parties use these firms to push or hide the truth to suit their aims but it is wrong . Just think of the good this money could do if not spent on these firms . Why is NZ the only country that allows the movement of these people from one role to another with no checks .In Canada it is 5 years before a lobbyist can work for the government.
