  1. Very fair points. NZ First aren’t perfect, but they’re more economically left-wing than nu-Labour or the Green bankers, and unlike Act, you can vote for them without worrying that you’re funding a child molester.

Frankly, I think a vote for NZ First is more defensible than one for the neoliberal scum of the Greens. At least Winston will push any government he’s a part of to the left.

As the former President of the Social Credit Party chose to deliberately destroy it after the passing of the late Chris Leitch, I’ll be voting Maori Party all the way, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Winston’s boys have a good showing.

  2. As an old, dismissive MMP comment goes–“May Party X get 4.9%” thereby failing to make the cut to Parliament unless coat tailing, and, wasting votes that could have gone to another party.

Winston could have retired in dignity with his achievements in Foreign Affairs, Acting PM, and the Provincial Growth Fund. But no, he prepared a letter to the Governor General trying to knife Jacinda and then associated with all manner of conspiracy fruitcakes.

  3. NZ Fist and Act’s economic policies are polar opposites so this could be really interesting to watch. We should forget about the left-right spectrum because this is about the interventionist v market true-believers spectrum which runs in this order; ACT, National Labour, Greens, NZ First. Put the other little parties in the middle where you like but NZ First is always at the far end!

  4. If it meant saving the country from more time ruled by Labour or even worst a 3 way deal with Greens and TPM then allowing Winston in would be worth the dead rat swallow

    1. I’m with you on that, Trev. Winston Peters as the person most likely to halt the genderID madness and damaging sexualisation scenarios being inflicted upon school children, is worth swallowing a dead rat for. He’s also all for freedom of speech, so let’s do this.

  5. There’s something very sad about Winston, a man who is a kind of heir to a pre-Roger Douglas Actual pro-human politics in this country, falling into this gang hysteria that a real man like Muldoon never would have.

Apparently if some guy from one gang assaults another guy from another gang, that’s somehow a worse crime and deserves worse punishment than a random nasty person with no gang affiliation affiliating someone they don’t know? Seems backwards to me.

  6. NZF will clear 5% and possibly twice that, as people realise ACT (mr Eugenics Davos Seymour himself) is just as progressive as Adern, and only fiscally conservative

As the gap between Lab/Grns widen from Nat/Act, watch moderate Labour voters go to Peters to throttle back ACTs influence.

    1. ACT is no different socially from the Greens, apart from an increased interest in changing the age of consent.

  7. never trust a politician’s promises – having said that Winston Peters is short on solutions (ie.promises to fix something) you bypassed that route to criticism.
while you exhorted the willing public to submit to poisoned injections, he was actually on the ground.
some of the advertising you run is a tad tasteless, Nate, just saying.

  8. If he got in and went with National the headline would read ” how Winston took our country back…wards.”
