The deal clincher probably free ping pong tables thrown in
So the real cost per ship is 1 billion because thats all they are buying .Rate payers/taxpayers are paying for the new land side construction .By 2029 the cost will be 5 billion including the 600 million already flushed into the cook straight.
Good win for the Right 2 billion saved
Nothing is being saved as they are still spending 2 billion .Dont forget the 700 million they wasted when they sunk the two bigger ferries .They were 10% bigger and 10% cheaper than the chinese corrollas .Then they have made the councils fund the berths at each end which will increase rates for the non users of those ferries .So the billion dollar cost is now a burden for rate payers who are in turn taxpayers ,see the smoke and mirrors the old coot uses to baffle you simple folk .By 2029 the cost will be 5 billion and the old bugger will be pushing up daisies or in LALA land more than he is now .Remember the first of the previous ferries was to be delivered about now .
Great joke Trevor. You’re getting the hang of it
