  1. He may have been in Chatham House, but Chatham House rules must be invoked for them to take effect. This had not happened when Goff spoke.

  2. Gone long ago into the mist of time. I now agree wholeheartedly that Goff was right tho it struck me as a bit vainglorious at the time. However several weeks later….where is the backbone in world leaders against bully in chief. The Canadian PM is not mincing his words not one bit, others need to follow. Full credit to Goff for putting a stick in the sand.

    1. Yep once you step back from the right wing weak pricks slamming Phil for saying what they should be saying he is 100% correct .If the rest of the so called free world stood up to the ginger nutter he would soon be gone .His type soon fade away when the majority stand up to them ,just look at the racist treaty bill which may be gone by lunch time along with Seymoure and Brash .

  3. Yes, nathan but if we look at many of our new minister many are not politicians, nor do they have any qualifications in the areas they work in, we have a gun lobbyist from the act party and our PM a soap salesmen and CEO of failing Air NZ.

  4. Now this business needs to be straightened out sensibly.
New Zealand is a small country with no ability to harm the United States.
The United States is a large and powerful country with the ability to destroy the world.
Therefore we dare not offend the United States unless we can be sure of the backing of a powerful ally(we do not have one).
SO when Phil Goff makes a mildly critical remark about the United States President he must be dismissed as our diplomatic representative to the United Kingdom.
This is because we recognise we are dealing with a thin-skinned belligerent bully and must be careful, for he is much stronger than us.
Now we have a thin-skinned belligerent bully of our own(Winston Peters) but like all bullies he only picks on people smaller than him.
NOW this rule about careful diplomacy only applies to small, vulnerable nations like ourselves.
United States diplomats have cheerfully involved themselves in the overthrow of many a Latin American government, new African nations, middle Eastern states and in New Zealand keep us pro-American by suggesting if we are a good little puppy we might, perhaps, possibly, get a favourable trade deal(loud laughter in the private chambers of the US Embassy).
Well the latest round of Tariffs show that even when we roll over and perform tricks it does not impress our American masters so why do we even try?
I propose we emblazon all our International Airports with a large neon sign ‘STORMY SAYS TRUMP IS A LITTLE LIMP DICK’ and wait for it to be adopted world wide. Also all our embassies should distribute pamphlets WHO VOTED FOR FUCKING ELON?

  5. FFS Martyn – NZ is the amoeba on the back of the flea on the back of the elephant. The bottom line is you annoy the orange man at your peril.

If you want Goff and Peters to stand up to Peters and he then whacks a 50% tariff on us, well guess what for the sake of “standing up to Trump” you’ve just lost us 10000 jobs and livelihoods.

    Yeah…Nah…

  6. Shhhhh, I don’t think Donald knows NZ exists yet considering we’re still left out of most world maps.
