  1. NZ’s GHG emissions continue to rise as do transnational investor profits.

For most the standard of living is threatened or falling now with future prospects looking dim indeed.

We don’t need dairy nor cars to eat. We need a reorganised society with priorities that don’t support investor state control and direction.

A simple shift could make a very big difference. A shift in power is a paramount aspect for survival.

  2. “the Government’s climate finance model is designed to be business focused , and not to benefit families living on the frontline of climate change in the Pacific”
This is what is wrong with our Government – it’s NEVER about the people.
We need to change the government, and the style of government. We need a far more socialist leaning government (meaning govt for people, as a priority) than we have had for the past 30+ years.
The silly thing is none of this is rocket science and has been obvious for quite some time. Govt really need to find out what our pacific neighbours need (not a resort to create jobs at great expense to NZ, but work strengthening their communities to withstand the coming events). And back home the same sort of thing needs to happen. We need stronger communities who help each other prepare for climate change and who support each other in times of need, not international investment in already established businesses which only creates $s for the investor.
