let the dinosaur media die please please can we fire hoskins???????

  1. That’s why , Frank ,…. they talk of a media ‘ circus ‘.

Because that is ,… precisely what they are. And do you know why so many of them are so butthurt ?

Its because Peters called them exactly for what they are :

    CLOWNS.

      1. No need apologize what a fucking pathetic right wing media we have. That is what it is, right wing.

“I want to thank the more than 1.15 million voters that placed their trust in the National Party, and I remain as determined as ever to lead a strong, stable government for the next three years that will deliver on the hopes and aspirations of all New Zealanders,” English said.

Well guess what Bill, over 3 million didn’t fucking want you, so if you have any amount of financial credibility, see the numbers and resign, quietly.

  2. Oh our MSM, is it eve n worth the effort, to spend so much time and attention on their fairy tales, they must all look a bit more stupid today.

I heard that it was actually 17 percent of all votes, the special ones that is. And with the new final result in now, it is important to note, that the Nats are only about 2 percent ahead of Labour – Greens. So if Winston comes to the party, if he realises that he and his party will get more achieved with Labour and Greens than with the Nats, it will be all on.

The only worry is how the grey fox Winston will work with Jacinda as Labour’s leader. Will they be ‘equal’ partners, or will he use his seniority and experience to put some pressure on her, to get his way?

If Winston would go with the Nats, he will end up with an entitlement driven Bill English, who will think, hey, we are the biggest party, I am the leader and boss, you can be my German Shepherd on the leash, being treated like a poodle.

That will not appeal to Winston, I think, and sitting on the cross benches, and only supporting the Nats as he feels, that will be no good option for the Nats, it will end up in a mess.

I think Winston will go with Labour, and try and work something out with the Greens, through Labour.

    1. National ONLY 1.2 percent ahead of a Labour – Green combined vote, let that sink into your brains, MSM! There is NO moral mandate for Bill to form a government, it is ALL in the hands of Winston.

    1. Have to take my hat off to Jacinda and her media trainers. She’s clear on what Labour’s key messages are. She repeats them in a calm, friendly manner, every time the paparazzi ask the same questions in different words. She’s careful not to make thoughtless comments that might come back to haunt her, yet she still manages to avoid coming across as either shifty or robotic. I’m grudgingly impressed.

  3. Very cathartic to read your piece, Frank. Like you, it was getting so annoying reading and watching all the so-called media pundits w@nking on about a Nat-Green coalition that we gave up watching the 6PM tv news or reading the newspapers (wee still buy the hardcopy). Even RNZ was getting interminably tedious.

The worst thing about this election wasn’t the preceding month of campaign propaganda, but the two weeks of media masterbation afterwards. That really was stomach turning.

  4. I worry that Bill’s concept of a majority is in actual fact a minority and he has been the minister of finance for years. His constant reiteration of what can only be described as News Speak is insulting and tedious.
Get ready man and talk sence.

  5. So fed up with the media. Its not just a new government that NZ desperately needs its a new cleaned up msm as well. Thanks for that Frank, you covered the situation brilliantly as always.
