  1. As usual, you’ve nailed it, Frank.

But I think you’re more charitable to the Maori Party than I would be. They deserved their lot. And they’re a clear warning to any other party thinking of aligning themselves with the Tories.

  2. … ” The Nats are nothing if not “flexible”. As are their “principles”….

… ” At the next election, Labour and the Greens must be better placed to strategically address “fake news” from the National Party. Labour and Green strategists must be conscious that the Nats will stoop to lies if their pre-election polling shows them at-risk of losing. A rapid-response task-force should be ready and well-resourced to counteract such lies; to do it immediately, and with energy ” …

    Nice post.

You could see it happening , … the bullshit , I mean.

The dirty , filthy bullshit of Stephen Joyce and Bill English. And we watched and listened to their crap. Thinking that these two pricks were getting away with their crap and not really being called on it. Yes Jacinda did , – towards the end.

But Labour had chose to run a positive campaign, and not stoop to the same sort of sewer dredging that Joyce and English did.

I believed Adern had to start getting more aggressive in giving these liars both barrels , … she did ,.. but only towards the end. But nowhere near enough in my opinion. When you have a rabid dog problem ,… you don’t mess around with them.

You line that dog up in your gun-sights and you put a bullet square through its temples and you make sure it doesn’t get up again.

Part of the problem is that Aderns style is far more gracious than that of those other two hacks. Its a credit she didn’t indulge them , however ,… when scumbags refuse to act under Queensbury Rules , they declare their hand. They set the tone of their intentions.

And they have to be dealt with accordingly.

Being overly conciliatory , allowing the dog to drown our what you’re saying by barking loudly , letting mutts take the initiative over you, – you just don’t allow that, and there were many opportunity’s missed that Adern could have use to command English to heel.

It would have only needed to happen once and that would have caused English to pull his horns in and tread carefully thereafter, … instead of going on the defensive about bogus ‘ holes’ or non existent taxes, – there was a magazine full of ammunition about Nationals appalling 9 years of social failings.

” Never mind about this business about Labour having had 9 years to design policy’s , – we’ve already done that , – just answer the fucking question , please ! ”.

    And keep doing that .

Keep taking it back to them every time they try on that angle.

Put them on the back foot and keep them there. Get them answering the questions. Get them trying to justify their failures. Rub their noses in the shit. They did it to so many , – they deserve to be treated like shit. They’ve treated hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders like shit so now its their turn.

No bloody mercy whatsoever for the buggers. That’s how I would have done it.

Simply without the swearing. But there’s many ways to call an arsehole an arsehole without ever having to say they’re an arsehole.

    People get the drift.

  3. I agree, the Maori Party have no one to blame but themselves for the collapse of their voter-base and their demise. They were LOSING SUPPORT with each election and ignored the signs put squarely in front of them. What on earth did they think was going to happen to them???

As for Peters, he’ll go with National. Toryism is in his DNA.

  4. All that is old is new.

People may call Peters many things but stupid is not onecof them. Unlike Labour English and co will dump him and coalition the moment the polls permit.

And the fundamental impediment is immigration….namely Oeters is not buying what the Nats are selling on this front. NAMELY LEGIONS MORE PEOPLE WHEN KIWIS ARE SLEEPING IN SHOP DOORWAYS IN MANUREWA AND elsewhere.
You can fool some othe people etc

    1. Richard, RYCTM:

[P]eters is not buying what the Nats are selling on this front. NAMELY LEGIONS MORE PEOPLE WHEN KIWIS ARE SLEEPING IN SHOP DOORWAYS IN MANUREWA AND elsewhere

You’re made a point no one else has (unless I’ve missed it) and will be pursuing this in an upcoming blogpost.
