  1. So who comes along for the Labour Party once the vet’s seen to the Emotional Support Labrador?

    1. Yes this is so true! Unfortunately his recent rise in the polls will just convince the appeasing self-satisfied idiot that is Chippy he is onto a good thing, career poli that he is. He won’t change a thing National has done if he becomes PM just like he said he won’t, maybe a little cosmetic twerk here and there to virtue signal. He is awful, terrible functionary we do not need. Willy Jackson?

  2. The bigger problem for NZ Labour is their potential coalition candidates.

When it comes to actual voting as opposed to opinion polls, many will be put off voting Labour because of the infantile antics of the Greens and ugly divisiveness of TPM.

    1. You make a good comment Andrew. It is history now but in 2017 National would have accepted Grrens as a partner to keep power and would have accepted many of their bottom lines.Instead they became a weak coalition partner behind NZF and achieved nothing.

      1. Agreed! That was when the Greens still had at least the remnants of a sane environmental movement within its ranks. Now no sensible political party would want to go within a mile of them: It’s run by ‘neurodiverse’ crackpots and trust bunnies with daddy issues.

    2. When it comes to actual voting as opposed to opinion polls, many will be put off voting National because of the infantile antics of NZF and ugly divisiveness of ACT.

Change a couple of words and “ta-da” … don’t look in the mirror aye.

  3. Chippy is weak, luke warm, mild. Labour needs someone with some mongrel. Keiran is that person. He will also resonate with provincial voters. Chippy come with baggage too – an election loser.

  4. I think that your comparison is unfair to Labrador dogs which in my experience have more of a backbone than Hipkins.

    1. Bonnie it is not Hipkins is the NZ voter who has no backbone .They voted the labour government out because they actually cared for the whole of NZ not just the 10% .They were too weak to stay the distance and build a inclusive society .They were also too weak to resist the racist lies spread by the 3 member parties of the current government .So now we are following the cruel greed of our so called friends and screwing as many of the working people as we can to increase wealth for the 10%.

  5. I still haven’t forgotten the undisguised breathless glee on Chippy’s face as he helped report on and organise the rolling of Cunliffe on national television.
    It was unseemly and telling.

  6. W.B. Yeats on fascism versus its opponents;
    ‘The best lack all conviction’
‘While the worst are full of a passionate intensity’.
This was written in the 1930s
Thus history repeats as both tragedy and farce.
I do not suggest that those of us who oppose right extremism become as savage as they are, but we do have to keep fact checking their propaganda and be louder in our rebuttals.
To stoop to the same level as Xenophon, Im right, Bob the First, Zelda is to lose the struggle because we become mired in the same filth that they wallow in.

  7. Why compare NZ labour to overseas political parties .Even dumb person there is no comparason to the UK or USA left .For a start as anyone can see the labour government in UK is as far right as own own scumbag coalition .Then the dems are warmongers and live to feed the arms race .
At least our labour governments care about the whole team unlike most other world governments .

  8. Ask any pom and they will tell you the UK Labour and NZ Labour are like chalk and cheese .Several poms I worked with would not vote Labour in the UK but were more than happy to vote Labour here .As we can now see they were right because the current Labour government is the same as our coalition of cunts and the orange roughy of the USA .
