US and UK launch new wave of strikes targeting Houthis in Yemen with support of New Zealand

The US and UK have conducted strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen from air and surface platforms, including fighter jets, with the support of several other countries. At least 30 targets were struck across at least 10 locations, according to two US officials.

The targets included command and control; an underground weapons storage facility; and other weapons used by the Houthis to target international shipping lanes, one official said.

“Our aim remains to de-escalate tensions and restore stability in the Red Sea but let us reiterate our warning to Houthi leadership: we will not hesitate to continue to defend lives and the free flow of commerce in one of the world’s most critical waterways in the face of continued threats,” the US and UK said in a joint statement with Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands and New Zealand.

New Zealand and other allies supported the operation, according to US Central Command.

REMEMBER: Most military analysts are telling us that bombing the Houthi is totally counter productive and will only empower them!

REMEMBER: The only reason the Houthi have expanded this attack on shipping lanes is because Israel is committing a real time ethnic cleansing war crime!

REMEMBER: NZDF personnel are target selecting for these attacks, so our finger IS on the trigger, we are enabling the strikes, we can’t pretend we are not directly responsible for any collateral damage.

The inanity of this is our Government’s attempt to put some wall between our strikes in Yemen for shipping lanes and America’s revenge attack for a drone that killed 3 American soldiers.

Put aside the audacity of America claiming their soldiers blood is somehow sacrosanct while there is a mountain of dead in Gaza, Biden is only flexing because of domestic criticism by the Republican Hawks who want to bomb Iran.
