  1. We live in a world that follows the concept Might is Right, not anything else contained in the papers on Universal Human Rights and so forth, we are back to Realpolitik, and ruthless enforcement of nations’ interests, the more powerful the more effective, full stop.

Trump works that way now, same as Putin does and Xi as leader of China. We are back to systems and situations not dissimilar to what was common before WW1 and WW2 and WW3 is around the corner, as trade wars of the kind now started, cannot solve much, they have to end in REAL wars, to ‘sort things out’.

The fate of Palestinians is irrelevant to most powers and the way things are evolving, they are ‘collateral’ at best, and can only hope the Gulf State donors do not let them down totally, so they have enough donations to survive and eat at least.

Israel is doing what it sees fit, and the US, with pro Zionist Trump, will protect that country, more so than even Obama and others did before.

N wonder such crazy developments as the formation of ISIS ever happened, it is a quite natural course of events, I think, worse to come.

    1. Insanity is on the rise in ruling circles and the future does indeed appear grim but, believe it or not, there have been worse periods in human history. The one thing our would-be masters desire most is for humanity to cave in and thus let them shape our future for their benefit. Well we are not going to give them that satisfaction. United in determination, the resistance of the global community will expose their lies and defeat their selfish ambitions.

What modern trumpery forgets, blinded by its vanity and selfishness, is that the genie is now out of the bottle. The world community knows that what followed from the Age of Reason led to an eventual blossoming and universal understanding and concern for our shared humanity. The whole world knows that in some societies, medical care, education, housing and relief of poverty have already been recognised as a right for all. Peace movements oppose warmongering on a scale, never before seen, and concern for the environment also unites us all.

While the oligarchs strive to reverse progress, we know they can be thwarted because we have been there before. The Fourth Geneva Convention is ours, international humanitarian law is ours and humanity will not relinquish that which has been achieved at such great cost. The more we assert our equality and shared humanity, the more isolated these fake voices will become. Marc, we have a choice: Resistance or surrender.
