New Defence Minister a mercenary in US wars – Auckland Peace Action
“National MP Mark Mitchell, newly appointed as Defence Minister, was a mercenary fighter in Iraq during the bloodiest period of the US occupation. His appointment signals what a pro-war, pro-US empire government this National Party really is,” said Auckland Peace Action spokesperson Virginia Lambert.
“Mark Mitchell not only went freely and willingly to fight in an illegal war of aggression, but he made a profit out of it. It is disgusting.”
“More than a million people are dead in Iraq because of the US’s war. Mark Mitchell was one of thousands who went to occupy and repress the local people on behalf of the US.”

What Mitchell did with the blood money he obtained in Iraq was exactly how he secured the ultra-safe National electorate of Rodney.
Ask Scott Simpson MP about what went on during that shit-fight.
Without the fortune he obtained working for the US occupation in Iraq, Mitchell would not even be an MP.
FYI. On John Key’s final day as PM, I observed Paula Bennett, Alfred Ngaro, and Mark Mitchell deep in conversation together outside Parliament, long after the other National MPs had dispersed.
They looked very pleased with themselves, and it appeared obvious (to me) that they had just been handed the keys to John Key’s dirty politics machine.
Prior to that, neither Ngaro, nor Mitchell were Cabinet Ministers.
Both are now.
Watch those three, watch them very closely.
