Electoral Amendment Bill passes its third reading in Parliament
The government’s changes to the electoral system have passed their third reading in Parliament.
The Electoral Amendment Bill ends same-day voter enrolment, bans prisoners from voting, allows for larger anonymous political donations, and clarifies the ban on giving out food at voting places.
People must also enrol at least 13 days before the election.
The legislation has been found inconsistent with the Bill of Rights Act and the changes to enrolments could prevent 100,000 or more people from voting.
The government says the bill will improve the timeliness, efficiency and integrity of elections.
The opposition says it aims to suppress voting.

WE SHOULD BE MAKING IT EASIER TO VOTE! NOT RESTRICTING IT!
So, let me see if I can get this completely straight.
The Government is gerrymandering the rules on Special Votes, which always lean left, by disenfranchising the 200,000 voters who vote in the last 12 days, by disenfranchising the over 5,000 prisoners from voting altogether and by raising the amount of money the rich can secretly donate to their rich prick mates by $1,000 up to $6,000?
This Government has become so desperate to hold onto power they are re-writing the rules for themselves by disenfranchising pro people WHILE enabling their rich mates to secretly donate.
If you are not incandescent with rage, you are not paying attention!
This Government can’t win a straight election, so they will cheat to win instead!
All of this has been done while you are distracted and not paying attention.

I’m sick of saying it and I’m sure you are all sick of reading it – LUXON is the epitomy of EVIL! There isn’t ONE CHRISTIAN or MORAL bone in his entire body. He is totally driven by his narcissistic ego, unbelievable greed, and his lust for power and fame. Joke is he will only ever be remembered as the “worst PM NZ has ever had” and how he and his lot “destroyed our lovely country”. Has Satan taken over his soul – or did he never have one? Everything Luxon gets even close to is corrupt, dishonest, biased and for his personal benefit. Something has to be done about the relentless Fast-track Bills being rammed through without consultation, due diligence or transparency. What is our Governor General doing about this; what are our Courts doing about this; what is the Left doing about this? Watching, waiting? So many Kiwis are flabberghasted and worn out with the bullying ‘you will do as we say’ mentality! Is apathy now a large part of our psyche? Do the enablers truly not see the obvious outcomes? Do we want to wake up one morning to find NZ is owned and controlled by the likes of the USA? Surely not. Time for NZ to put its foot down and say enough is enough but action has to be taken NOW.
Just another power grab .Soon if you dont own property or earn a million a year you will be excluded .Do you wonder why the local body numbers are down each election.? Its because there are less owner occupier people than there once was .And the renters think they cant vote because they dont directly pay rates which is totally incorrect .Everyone is entitled to vote but are not encouraged to do so and because of the divide that is happening at speed now sends the message these rights are only for wealthy colonists .
Luxon and the CoC are just the pus in the boil an infection that was caused by the voters that voted them in

So just to make sure you are saying .. only those that vote Left are too lazy or disorganized to be registered to vote 13 days before the election.
So just tp make sure, this government is trying to “fix” an issue that isn’t broken. Definitely gerrymandering to the elite who have every available measure to vote including online and transport. You wont see National voters on a bus.
Don’t forget, no food to be available within 100 meters of a polling booth. The level of petty racism in this government continues to amaze.
For those 17 year olds who would be of voting age close to the election I suggest you register yourselves now if possible to be on the electoral roll. And so when there is an election you will be able to vote. You will not have to wait another 3 years till the next election.
There are more homeless and it could be likely that the homeless who have ‘no registered fixed abode’ will not be allowed to vote at an election. Just like prisoners are no longer allowed to vote. And so lets say a whole heap of homeless people(there is estimated to be over 900 homeless people in Auckland alone from what I have heard) are thrown into jail for ‘loitering in a public place’ in the lead up to an election. They go from being humans to being prisoners with no Voting Rights.
The main portion of the population here in NZ are lower income and what Luxon has called Bottom Feeders. The very people Luxon etc have no interest in and would actively prevent any chance of any of them voting in an election.
They are the Young People Living on the Streets and they are the Young People who resort to Crime. They are the Very NZers this government will discard and denigrate at every opportunity.
Right now Luxon is on an Ego-Quest. He wants to look like he has achieved so much but in reality has contributed to so much damage. And sadly enough neither Nicola Willis or Him will ever be held Accountable for Their Actions. In fact they will have gotten away with it all. And Luxon will add a ‘fabled FTA with India” to his CV and a pending knighthood because that Is ALL the Self-Centred Cretin is interested in.
