More evidence of how Labour screwed up the Medicinal Cannabis Market

New Zealand is good at growing cannabis, and the local illegal cannabis market is completely supplied domestically, but to buy it legally it has to come from offshore. In my friend’s instance, from Australia.
As they did our banks, it looks like the Aussies are taking up a bit more of our economy. Perhaps because this whole thing is far from efficient, the price of the cannabis was high (no pun intended but enjoy it if you like).
…that’s right, Labour have fucked us once again with the same bullshit regulation problems that created the Supermarket duopoly!
If cannabis were legalised, the New Zealand industry could employ about 5000 people and reap almost $1.1 billion in taxes a year, two in-depth reports by Business and Economic Research Ltd have shown.
We haven’t ended up with that promise of cannabis in NZ.
This Medicinal Cannabis Industry is a rigged market just like the Supermarket industry that has allowed basic refined medicine that gives none of the enjoyment of cannabis for a product that should have always been available for people with seizures.
This isn’t a success, it’s another broken market rigged for the super rich.
The only winners are organised crime who continue to sell to a market of stoners who refuse to engage in the profit margins of the corporate pharmaceutical industry.
The failures of the Medicinal Cannabis market manages to highlight all the problems with Labour – no ability to actually deliver.
How the Christ have Labour managed to take a country like NZ, the creates some of the best cannabis in the world, and managed to create a monopoly for Australian cannabis?
I’m not looking for socialism from Labour, just basic regulated Capitalism!

Don’t you understand that this government is absolutely hopeless.
They are so concerned with identity politics that they have no clue how to do anything else.
The only way they could succeed against Covid was to shut the country down. Something that is relatively easy to do.

I think there is nothing wrong with medical cannabis. I also would like a doctor to be able to allow someone who needs cannabis for pain relief the ability to grow their own supply like herbs as long as it was just for them and for a specific reason.
As a compromise between those that want to make drugs a criminal conviction to those who don’t want to encourage the spread of drugs – how about decriminalising Cannabis for personal supply and just having the fine similar to a parking fine of $200? Will stop people doing it constantly but not push those who partake into the criminal justice system.
The big problem in NZ is Meth and harder drugs.
