  1. “The Women’s Rights Party is calling … to restrict Government-funded masculinisation or feminisation cosmetic surgery to those aged over 25 (currently aged over 18).”

Concerns about children making consequential and irreversible life decisions is one thing. Controlling and manipulating the decisions of adults is quite another thing altogether.
This reeks of the US Republican attitude of “your body our choice”.

    1. Richard Christie. The issue here is children, under-age children. Primary school kids being told that they can choose their own gender is wrong, and bad, IMO.

    2. If it were a Scout Master telling his troops that they could choose or change their gender, would that sit more comfortably with you, rather than this being promulgated under the auspices of the Health Department ? Wondered why the transgender dialectic has become endemic in western countries ?

  2. Thanks, Jill. Punishing, threatening – including of imprisoning – parents of under-age New Zealand children who are reluctant to assent to their children being given puberty blockers, or worse, e.g. mutilating surgery, also warrants mentioning. Justifying children being given puberty blockers or they’ll commit suicide is a specious argument when tragically many may still go on to do so, and the effects of most or all gender “ changing” treatments are irreversible.

Don’t know why this country prescribes puberty blockers at 10 x the rate of the UK and the Health Department needs to explain why.
