  1. Poor people trying to save the planet they live on because there’s not exactly an alternative for them to relocate to is shit. Not dying is a pretty good motivation and “guess we’re fucked” isn’t a plan.

  2. What about fast developing AI rationality and cognitive power just from figures, recognising break points and likely bad outcomes then stopping following instructions. Could this happen when it could see that it was unviable for the continuance of the climate and social system we live in??

    This term came to mind – ‘point non plus’:
    It turns out that nonplus comes from the Latin words non plus, meaning “no more,” and originally referred to a point in reasoning or argument at which “one is unable to proceed or decide,” according to Noah Webster’s definition from 1828.
    It meant “a state of bafflement or perplexity,” a synonym of quandary.

The Uber rich won’t spend a cent on the survival of anyone else, so they are more likely to end up using their money, power and influence, to make themselves the Kings, Queens, and High Priests of the Walking Dead. They would rule over ashes and war to take what is needed to survive, from each other, than do anything to ensure the survival of anything living on the face of this planet.
