I like how over at Stuff I’m like Voldemort in that you are not allowed to say my name, which is fine when you consider the amount of criticism I’ve dumped on their middle class docudrama, Fire & Fury.
I think Stuffs game is guilt by association.
As I’ve previously blogged, I knew Hannah 22 years ago, last spoke with her maybe 15 years ago. She was a passionate, admired and much respected environmentalist and social justice advocate then.
She went bush many, many moons ago and never came back.
The person in front of us now is not the vibrant and funny person I remember.
How we de-radicalise and bring our Whānau home from the rabbit holes they’ve fallen down is an urgent debate that needs to happen in our friendship circles, family and wider society.
I think this current case against them is a knee jerk reaction that they will turn into a show trial and gain only more notoriety from it.
They have an enormous platform and a conspiracy theory multiverse that is constantly using violent overthrow of the legitimate Government as their go to metaphor.
Violent overthrowing of a legitimate Government and plotting to do that is illegal and the SIS should have led a legitimate investigation and built a solid case against Counterspin.
That hasn’t happened, we’ve had a knee jerk arrest for a case they will turn into.a propaganda show trial.
After the Show Trials are over we are going to still need to talk about how we bring our family home.

They doxxed the house she is living in on bail. That’s got to be a new low for a newspaper. Not hard to figure out.
They appear to have used a photo from Kiwipolitico, where I dredged it up for a “where are they now?” post. I am surprised that they made no mention of you in captioning the photograph. That seems a wee bit petty even if you do criticise them regularly.
They didnt mention you Martyn because they’re all under educated 18 year olds who have never heard of you!!!
The problem is that to many people the government has lost all credibility. The fact that it observable they don’t give a shit about ordinary people unless they are in the ‘gated’ group that is safe for the moment, but dis respect everyone else draws ire. And that the same thing can be said of both sides of the political ‘debate’.
People are tired of being tolerant of the government that shows no tolerance for them. Terrible things have been done to families, the meth criminal behaviour – from government and their agencies, the stealing of babies from their mothers’ arms virtually – decided by computer algorithms with no real government thought behind it.
The actions of import everything, export-funds-only jobs are worth bothering with, has lost precious domestic jobs and riven communities.
Who doesn’t hate or despair about the government; only the complacent, those who keep their heads down and continue in their near- affluent lives, and those ‘fools’ who cling on to the dream of some gold being found in the brains and cultures of the PTB, the politicians and their pliant flunkeys given power to be dictatorial. But I fear as in Paul Metsers song – It is Farewell to the Gold that Never I Found.

When you look at the number of police nurses and teachers who one would have concided as intellegent and role models who lost all respect by not getting vaccinated then you realise the power of the dark force . While some would have had ethnical reasons most were sucked in by the evil Web . that comes out of the inds of those who watched to bring the World down for their own reasons.
I can’t remember the numbers Trevor but I think it’s a pretty small percentage of police and nurses that didn’t get vaccinated. Haven’t searched so could be wrong. You missed out totally whack job General Practitioners who got all anti vax. I think the moral of the story is don’t automatically make role models of people you don’t know.
Read an odt article today about a Chch mayrol candidate who supports counterspins rights to publish. The journalist asked some challenging questions but let the guy have his say.
This is journalism. Unlike stuff who are conducting witch hunts imo.

If the government tries a repeat of the divisive mandate stunt with the upcoming vaccine it will bring a third of the country out and it will be a lot harder to scream ‘nazi’ and all the other scapegoating fantasies. Not that they wouldn’t try, just that it will be a much harder sell and trying would be spectacularly divisive.
They would be risking actual journalism for a start. I’m told there are still some.
I’m interested to see if it will be tried. It can’t be justified and there is a lot more evidence now. And there would be no way of pretending that civil unrest was an unintended consequence. But cards on the table.

I guess it shows how fragile the strands are that tie society together when the covid mandates arrived and how entrenched the madness was over vaccinations in general before that yet obviously weren’t a flash point because the health authorities didn’t do much but roll their eyes in frustration.
