  1. NZ needs a commodity export tax. If the primary product is not processed up the value chain before export subject the profit to higher rate of company tax.

  2. I think Luxon inspected the troop turn out, didn’t see any North Korean or Russian uniforms, and concluded NATO and everyone else doesn’t have a clue.

Did no one find it disingenuous that Xi was so full of praise for Luxon? Really? It was like that guy that thought he was ‘the dude’ when negotiating with Hans Gruber in Die Hard. I am sure John McLean was somewhere begging Luxon not to fall for it.

  3. So now we are part of the belt and road to South America .The Chinese money lauders will be able to get the stop over visa to pick up the drug money over night and catch a plane out next day.

  4. Plenty of truth there but don’t let Labour off the hook – Helen Clark signed NZ up to the China free trade deal and it was also Labour that allowed Fonterra to form as a virtual monopoly, both the main factors which shackled our dairy farms to China and all the bad that over intensifying the industry then did (Key and crew).
Helen *benign strategic environment* *destroy the strike wing on NZ air force* Clark.
    What damage she has done.

  5. We could take the high moral ground and not deal, with any country we disagree with and starve or play being a friend to all and enemy to none and have money for a good standard of living.
When was the last time China bombed another country it did not like and risk the World order.

  6. Our economy may have been welded to China by the dairy industry. But the US hegemon has something to say about that. No matter if it wrecks us economically.

Time to call neutrality and rid ourselves of all imperialist political and military entanglements. If the Chinese or anyone else want to buy our dairy and agricultureal produce good.

If we don’t want to be drawn into another world war, we need to reach across national borders and build genuine human relationships with the Chinese and Taiwanese people.

Only a UN guaranteed and ratified neutrality status could ensure us this role.

No more talk of AUKUS Pillar 2, no more 5 Eyes, no more Waihopai US spy base on our territory, no more participation in US war games alongside genocideal Israeli troops.

Guard the Pacific’s triple star from the shafts of strife and war.
Guard us from dissension, envy, hate, and foreign coercion of our state,
Make our country neutral, good and great,
    E Ihowā Atua
