E-mail from concerned resident: Dear Mr Luxon, despite my submissions against it, despite protests by thousands of people the government has used fast track legislation to allow a mining company to dig a massive hole in the park next to my house.
Drilling goes on twenty four hours a day and noise, dust and vibration makes living here intolerable. My wife and children’s health suffers because of it can you please stop it?’
reply e-mail; The Prime Minister is always happy to have people contact him and is delighted to know that you are monitoring the situation.

    1. In NZ as in most countries parties are voted out so National know if they go against what people want they will not remain in power. Most people want good jobs that pay well and that means mines and all the industry supports. If it can be done with as much care as possible then that will sit well with the majority. If it does not then good bye National but I am betting a return to power if they stay on the same course.
