    The challenges Labour face are:

    You offered little more.

    You lot are not trusted to deliver

    You lot are to similar to National

    Until you come up with policy, you can then start marketing, you lot are largely politically impotent.

    You lot are very disliked still – i.e. mandates did your party no favours. Nor does your desire to continue to punish smokers. Nobody likes an authoritarian, in your face nanny state.

    Unless you lot massively up your game, your best hope of being in power again is if voters come to hate National significantly more than they dislike and distrust you.

    Additionally, you will also need to hope the Greens continue to fumble and fail to gain significant traction in their support. Otherwise they will outperform you to become the lead opposition party.
