I have been an enormous Jon Stewart devotee ever since I first saw his criticism of Bush’s corrupt Iraq war.
His ability to critique the narrative and challenge it is unequaled in the TV genre.
Stewart is the Gen X God of political satire and his laser like argument brilliance has never been seen since.
The incredible jump in ratings from 300 000 to almost 2 million speaks volumes of how lost many Gen Xers have felt in terms of genuine cultural leadership.
Gen Xers loved being reminded what intelligence and broadcasting skills meant before social media.
Ironically his hilarious critique of how old Biden is was immediately attacked by the wokest Democrats on Twitter because snow flake triggered Millennials know only how to cancel someone and virtue signal minus the talent of persuasion.
That is what Jon Stewart actually represents, the talent of intellectual persuasion that dominated Gen X values. The Identity Politics virtue signalling cancel culture is fine for creating sharp pure temple factions that divide and exclude, when what is required is a shared agreement of the argument, which is what Jon Stewart can achieve.
In an American election year built upon radical identity and existential grievance, Jon Stewart’s ability to persuade minus the woke piousness could be the difference between Trump winning or not winning.
He is Gen Xs moment to step up between the Cultural Boomer Overlords and the self-absorbed Millennials.

If Trump is the orange fascist existential threat he really is, the Democrats have to put forward a Candidate who can actually beat him.
Biden is not that. He beat Trump last time because after 4 years of Trump, the nation needed an emotional support Labrador, and that is what Biden was.
Now America needs new vision and a candidate who can get through 90 second answers without becoming confused.
If Trump wins, the American Midnight begins and Jon Stewart will be the first up against the Republican Wall.
Biden’s interviews are an embarrassment yet when analysed he makes a lot of sense. Trump’s speeches are complete nonsense, it’s worth looking at transcripts. Yet Biden gets all the criticism in mainstream media. The thought of either being President is frightful but at least Biden is sane with sane people around him.
The Democrat leadership must have been drinking its own Kool-Aid. It’s been obvious to anyone with eyes to see that Biden has been unfit to govern for years. He hid in his basement during the 2020 election and only won because of Covid, postal ballots, and the FBI tinkering with Facebook and Twitter feeds. He’s avoided press conferences and when he did them, with only friendly media being allowed to ask scripted questions. His last cabinet meeting was October for goodness’s sake. That’s not governing!
So, everyone on the left leaning media was in on the coverup…right until the debate, when the narrative fell apart. So now they’re all running for the hills. There was a Washington Post headline saying “Viewers of Fox knew what we didn’t two years ago” which is just another lie of course. They knew alright!
The best bit is that they’ve painted themselves into a corner. Their VP choice was based on toxic DEI guidelines and she’s clearly not competent. In the 2020 primary she got less than 1% of Democrat votes – yes, she’s that awful. The Biden/Harris campaign fund now stands at 220 million dollars but even if they find another candidate, that money is held in trust for Biden/Harris. As I understand it, it cannot be transferred.

I don’t normally agree with Andrew but this comment is pretty much on the money. I’m intrigued by the reaction from @millsy and @National are Squeaky Clean though especially because this article is very clear that Biden is being criticised by people on the left.

Hilarious. So Trump is going to institute a dictatorship on day 1 of his second term, despite… having done nothing of the sort in his first term (not even, as he promised, locking the disgusting, corrupt war criminal Hillary Clinton up)?

I’ve said it before, and it bears repeating until certain unnamed people get it through their thick skulls. This American election began three and a half years ago with the events of Jan 6. Over those three and a half years, the independent verifiable reputable polls have consistently shown the trends. No Democrat or Independent voter will vote for Trump. Period, Full Stop. That leaves the undecided and Republicans, of whom at least half say they either won’t vote, or will vote for Biden.
Where’s your Trump victory in that. It disappears in a puff of reality.
