Phone footage appears to contradict Israeli account of killing of Gaza medics
Mobile phone footage of the last moments of some of the 15 Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers killed by Israeli forces in an incident in Gaza last month appears to contradict the version of events put forward by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The almost seven-minute video, which the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said on Saturday was recovered from the phone of Rifat Radwan, one of the men killed, appears to have been filmed from inside a moving vehicle. It shows a red fire engine and clearly marked ambulances driving at night, using headlights and flashing emergency lights.
The vehicle stops beside another that has driven off the road. Two men get out to examine the stopped vehicle, and then gunfire erupts before the screen goes black.

The UN has accused Israel of shooting in the Palestinian Emergency vehicles, taking all 15 staff hostage, tying their hands behind their backs and then executing them.
Fifteen Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers, including at least one UN employee, were killed in the incident in Rafah on 23 March, in which the UN says Israeli forces shot the men “one by one” and then buried them in a mass grave.
According to Israel, pointing out they are lying and criticising their execution of 15 emergency staff is antisemitism.

A PhD student was snatched by masked officers in broad daylight. Then she was flown 1,500 miles away
Tufts University PhD student Rumeysa Ozturk was walking alone Tuesday night to meet friends at a dinner where they would break their 13-hour Ramadan fast when six plainclothes officers suddenly encircled her on the street near her apartment in Somerville, Massachusetts, surveillance video shows.
The 30-year-old shrieked in fear when an officer in a hooded sweatshirt and hat grabbed her by the wrists as another pulled out a concealed badge on a lanyard and confiscated her cell phone.
Soon afterward, the swarm of officers who had surrounded her on the sidewalk pulled cloth coverings over their mouths and noses, some of them wearing sunglasses.
“We’re the police,” the officers said.
“Yeah, you don’t look like it. Why are you hiding your faces?” a person not seen in the video can be heard responding.
The masked officers handcuffed Ozturk and held onto each of her arms, the video shows.
One minute after the encounter began, Ozturk was led into an SUV and driven away.
The international student – who is originally from Turkey and on a valid F-1 student visa – was then driven “across multiple states,” including multiple government offices in New England, Ozturk’s legal team said.
The next morning, she was flown more than 1,500 miles away from her home to a staging facility in Alexandria, Louisiana – despite a court order about six hours after her arrest that Ozturk not be moved outside Massachusetts without 48 hours’ notice.
While in transit to Louisiana, Ozturk suffered from an asthma attack, according to an amended habeas corpus petition filed Friday. Throughout that period of time, Ozturk was not charged or given the opportunity to speak with a lawyer, according to the spokesperson.
Then, she eventually ended up at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile, Louisiana.
Ozturk is one of several international university students facing deportation following a Trump administration order to crack down on pro-Palestinian demonstrations on college campuses.
The arrests of scholars and students at the hands of masked law enforcement officers – who have taken them into custody by ambushing them on city streets and near their homes – have sent a chill across the international student community.
After Ozturk’s arrest, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said she “engaged in activities in support of Hamas” in a Wednesday statement, without specifying what those alleged activities were. Her lawyers say she is unfairly being punished for speaking out in favor of Palestinian rights.
While a judge has since halted her deportation, Ozturk’s lawyers continue to fight for her release.

Police have raided a Quaker meeting house and arrested six women attending a gathering of the protest group Youth Demand.
More than 20 uniformed police, some equipped with Tasers, forced their way into the Westminster meeting house at 7.15pm on Thursday, according to a statement by the Quakers.
“No one has been arrested in a Quaker meeting house in living memory,” said Paul Parker, the recording clerk for Quakers in Britain.
“This aggressive violation of our place of worship and the forceful removal of young people holding a protest group meeting clearly shows what happens when a society criminalises protest.

In a video posted on Youth Demand’s Facebook page, a woman who claimed to have attended the meeting described it as a “publicly advertised welcome talk” about the group. She said police seized attenders’ phones and laptops.

By their own admission, the IDF confess to shooting up the ambulances, and then checking to see if any of those they killed, were Hamas members.
The IDF investigation claimed the responders bodies were buried several metres deep to keep them from wild dogs. This show of concern for the deceased doesn’t gel with the crushed and mangled state of the bodies caused by the bulldozer used to bury them. Wild dogs doesn’t account for the state of the ambulances also being found crushed and buried by the IDF D9 bulldozer. The IDF investigation claimed the ambulances were buried to keep the roads clear.

What is most sinister about our deployment of a New Zealand Frigate and an Orion aircraft to the Arabian Gulf, is that when you look at the timeline, it was done on the 12th of February right in the middle of the ceasefire long before the ceasefire was ended, at a time when the Yemenis were obeying the ceasefire, and had lifted their blockade of all shipping through the Red Sea, including to Israel. In hindsight it is obvious that the NZDF were in on Israel’s plan to break the ceasefire.
The ceasefire took effect on the 19th of January 2025, and was ended by Israel on the 18th of March 2025, the Te Kaha and the Orion were deployed on the 12th of February.
