If the Left win 2023 Election – will Woke misread it as a victory for their alienating identity politics?

The real danger that confronts us on the political Left this election is that if we manage to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat (which I believe we will), the middle class woke identity politics activists will misread that victory as evidence their alienating bullshit won us the election.

Which will be the worst take to make.

Let’s be very clear, if we on the Left win the 2023 election with a Labour led minority Government that has a supply and confidence arrangement with the Māori Party, it will be DESPITE the woke, not because of them!

This will not be a woke victory.

This will be a clawing back of all the voters they have pushed away.

The Right look for recruits, the Woke look for traitors.

The culture wars in America have overwhelmingly pushed voters away…

…the Intercept followed the Atlantic in highlighting how woke crusades within political activism and the wider work community have alienated and divided…

…even NZs own Janet Wilson noted the influence of woke cancel culture.

We get it wokies, your self constructed identity is more important than our shared humanity.

Social Media is an ocean of the bullied who have finally found strength online and that taste of power is too addictive to ever leave. In a post #MeToo world where allegation is the new evidential threshold and virtue signalling subjective rage is as important as the constant sadfishing olympics where wounds and scars are held up to the foaming public demanding attention.

As politics polarises around identity and not class solidarity, tribal micro-aggression policing is only going to get more puritanical on social media because those who need this vehicle gain too much emotionally from its self-aggrandising algorithms.

Public shaming and the visceral thrill of blood the safety of the mob provides is the new morality…

Public shaming is not a new phenomenon by any stretch, but as Russell Blackford, a writer, philosopher and lecturer at the University of Newcastle explained, civilisations moved away from it “partly in recognition of its cruelty”.

The explosion in growth of social media platforms over the past decade has seen its return, but Blackford describes it as a very new form of shaming.

“These types of mobs are just devastating for people and I don’t think those who participate in them fully understand just how destructive they can be,” Blackford said.

“One of the things that worries me is the sheer glee and cruelty that can be shown by these mobs when they’re out to destroy people.”

There have been countless examples of Twitter mobs “cancelling” or “deplatforming” those who commit some kind of moral indiscretion.

He examined a number of incidents for his book The Mystery of Moral Authority and said the consequences can be significant.

“With social media, the whole world opens up and you can find yourself piled on by huge numbers of people, often with threats … it’s a significant storm.

“It’s often massively disproportionate to the original incident.

“Any second chance someone gets comes much, much later. But that aside, there can be a sheer psychological impact that can make any redemption almost beside the point.

“I’m actually surprised more people haven’t (died by) suicide over these kinds of things. People have lost their jobs, there have been devastating effects on families, and on and on it goes.”

…French existential philosopher once said, Hell is other people’. I’d suggest, ‘Hell is other people’s social media feed”.

In an age of 24/7 immediate shallow connection we are more alienated and lonely than ever before.

American Podcaster Chris Hedges describes a new Woke Imperialism…

Woke culture, devoid of class consciousness and a commitment to stand with the oppressed, is another tool in the arsenal of the imperial state.

…in the wake of a frenzied mob attacking Posie Parker and calling that ‘progress’, perhaps we on the Class Left need to cast an eye over our middle class woke identity politic activists comrades as we go into election year, just to check if they are generating solutions or resentment.

 

The DIA Ministry of Truth

The new attempt to strangle off free speech is the DIA’s ‘Ministry of Truth’.

Under this new regime, the Ministry of Truth compels a regulation that requires ‘safety’ plans for ‘vulnerable’ people (as defined by the Ministry of Truth).

If a person complains about your content, you are required to show the Ministry your ‘Safety’ plan and if that ‘Safety’ plan is not good enough to deal with the lived experience of the vulnerable people who you have offended, you are in trouble.

It seems the vulnerable people will determine that.

If my safety plan is not robust enough, I don’t have one or if it doesn’t end up pacifying the vulnerable person, I get fined.

This is well beyond changing the hate speech laws, this is an entire Bureaucratic Infrastructure upgrade that would allow the aggrieved to complain to the Ministry of Truth and the Ministry of Truth would demand the Network’s ‘Safety’ plan and would ‘audit’ the ‘safety’ plan to see if you as the Network owner are protecting the consumer safety of vulnerable people (as defined by the Ministry of Truth).

One of the fears of the change in Hate Speech Laws was that the woke would weaponise the process and demand investigations for every twitter fight since 2016, well this suggestion by the DIA codifies a means for which anyone can launch their latest lynch mobs from.

The cancelling of Richie Hardcore:

For questioning the madness of woke cancel culture, the woke feminists turned on Richie Hardcore and had him cancelled humiliatingly in real time.

Richie is the kind of amazing man you want as a role model for sons and boys. He  challenges drug, alcohol and pornography use. He is constantly calling on men to get in touch with their emotions, he is a passionate anti domestic violence voice and he talks about male emotional healing and respecting women.

Including him in a discussion on International Womens Day is the exact sort of thing you would do to bring males into the discussion, but woke ideology is all about pure temple politics over Broadchurch solidarity

Richie is a legend of a bloke, to have him so humiliated by the organisers who folded immediately for a woke Lynch mob shows you how tribal identity politics has become, and explains why Pride Parade this year and the Student Strike were complete and utter flops.

The woke and their puritanical cult are so alienating they have bled out all the support for progress.

Tragedy of ‘Milked’ and the SWATTING of Rachel Stewart:

Rachel Stewart is one of the most important environmental voices challenging Dairy Farming from inside the farming community. She is a staunch lesbian feminist who has led a critical voice inside the rural community for her entire life. One of the youngest chapter Presidents of Federated Farmers, she was an award winning columnist until the NZ Herald refused to print a column critical of Trans dogma.

Rachel was featured in the documentary ‘Milked‘ for her environmental activism until Trans activists contacted the Producers of the documentary and threatened them that the entire film would be boycotted if all the scenes of Rachel weren’t cut for the overseas market.

The Producers panicked and cut Rachel out.

Rachel was arguing with a male Trans Ally on twitter and the male Trans Ally manufactured her response as a threat to shoot him with a gun and trans activists pressured NZ Police to raid her home to seize her guns.

Police were forced to hand back her guns and apologise.

It was the first attempt by the woke to ‘swatting’ an opponent.

 

Woke war against comedy:

It was so sad watching dear old Guy Williams grovel his woke apology for platforming genocidal hate criminal Leo Molloy.

The woke had risen up against feminist comedian Guy Williams for daring to play an off the rocker interview with Leo Molloy who gave him a hiding in the most hilarious way during a spoof boxing match that was hammed up and spectacularly funny.

For daring to laugh while owning a penis, the middle class woke were outraged that a feminist ally like Guy would platform any masculinity that hadn’t been signed off by the feminist comedy guild conclave.

Guy apologised to the screaming activists who were threatening to cancel him and he later came out to gutlessly attack Louis CK to ensure he publicly supported the list of funny men to cancel.

We all love Guy and we all knew the woke had his balls in a vice and were taking turns playing the bongo riff from the Rolling Stones ‘Sympathy for the Devil‘, on them so we all forgave him backing down and shitting on Louis CK.

Comedy in NZ is now under the command of the feminist comedy guild conclave which demands all NZ Male comedians attack Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais on Twitter weekly.

Or else.

 

The 7 Scientist cancellation:

The debate about Māori indigenous knowledge being on par with the Western Scientific tradition was a valid debate to have, but it was the woke backlash of persecution between woke allies who branded the 7 Scientists as racist that surprised everyone.

The drive to have two of the Scientists removed from the Royal Society for a very valid argument against public education undermining basic tenants of established scientific method because cracker uses it to keep down the man.

I mean. Come on.

The debate was worthy, the response by woke allies was not.

Instead of even attempting to engage with the debate, the pile on was for cancellation and deplatforming. The woke argument being that the masses were so stupid that they would attach racist mindsets to anything the 7 Scientists said meaning the 7 Scientists were attempting to start a micro aggression culture war that would lead to immediate genocide of the entire Māori population.

Thankfully one of the scientists died before they could strip him of his Royal Society membership.

His death cheats the woke and many in Wellington tell us they wake at night in a screaming rage that they didn’t get to strip that racist Scientist of his Royal Society membership before he died.

Auckland’s Pride festival: What went wrong?

THE ELECTION of a new Pride board in 2018 meant a fresh strategy. The new chairperson, Cissy Rock, was an organisational developer with a 20-year history of working on strategic solutions for community and government groups.

Board members, a mix of old and new, included Michael Lett, the gallerist and now board secretary, Ta’i Paitai, an event organiser, Zakk d’Larte, a graphic designer, and Phylesha Brown-Acton, who negotiates services for Pacifica transgendered people. Two others, including the board treasurer, would shortly choose to resign.

Over a month, there were four community hui, including one online, held by Auckland Pride, to consult about the shape of the events.

“People really did want Pride to be more queer, more political, less corporate, and more balanced – with a grass-roots community feel,” says Rock.

“And there was also a question about State institutions – not just the Police, but Corrections – their participation and what it meant.”

While issues of race and age were the most prominent subjects in the subsequent summary produced by the board, the only “hot topic hui” that followed was focused on police.

“That seemed to be the one that needed a more 360 degree look at it,” said Rock. “I facilitated that hui … I was upfront … We are here to hear each other, we are not representing organisations, we are here to really get a sense of what the broader community is thinking and feeling around this … There was some raw stuff said.”

Subsequently, in early November 2018, the board announced that while they “welcomed” GLBTQI+ police officers marching in the parade in 2019, they would not be welcome to march in uniform as they had done since 2015.

It was suggested they could march in T-shirts.

Pride stated that while there was “goodwill” towards the police, the organisation did not “currently meet the degree of safety and awareness of intersectionality required by our Rainbow Communities”.

To judge by online discussion and questions, “intersectionality” was not a familiar concept to most of the board’s constituency. It is defined as a framework that examines how systems of power impact upon society’s most marginalised people.

No compromise could be negotiated. GLBTQI+ police withdrew from the event – while allowing for a future engagement. Almost immediately, the New Zealand Defence Force said it would follow suit. Private companies began reassessing their involvement.
“I was surprised by the police’s reaction because it was very cut and dry,” said Rock. “It was either they march in uniform or it was nothing.”

Two Pride board members, Matty Jackson and Verity George, resigned following the decision. “I can’t honestly support the decisions that were made,” Jackson tweeted. “My values and that of Auckland Pride are no longer aligned and this is not a decision I have made lightly.”

Tension and emotion ran high.

“I think that the board had totally underestimated how much community interest there was,” said Michael Stevens as he described the Grey Lynn public meeting that followed on Sunday, November 12. “I’d guess there were around 250 to 300 people there by the end. The atmosphere was tense and rancorous.”

The board’s chosen independent facilitator, Tim Foote, who had flown in from Wellington for the job, seemed unaware of the strength of emotion in Auckland. He started the meeting with a poem but the audience was restive. A number of PAPA members were present, including Rākete, and they had placed themselves centre-stage.

Rākete described herself to the meeting as “a Marxist-Leninist criminologist”. She would go on to hold up a photograph and read out the names of each of the 15people killed In New Zealand as a result of an interaction with police in the previous 10 years, no matter the circumstances.

“Our goal is to call attention to the crisis and contradictions inherent in the New Zealand justice system,” Rākete said. “We want to call attention to the ways it doesn’t solve social problems, how the criminal justice system has worsened inequality and how it is fundamentally pointless and dysfunctional and needs to be replaced with community justice, something which can work and help people.”

Many of PAPA’s statements were focused on the subject of race, rather than GLBTQI+ people. It was a blurring of issues that would confuse many.

Rākete cited the annual Police Tactical Options Research Report, which examines all incidents in which police have used pepper-spray, closed fist-blows, tasering, use of attack dogs or shooting.

“In 2014, the first year that police officers marched in the parade, Māori were 7.1 times more likely to be victims of one of these forms of police violence,” Rākete said. “The most recent Tactical Options Report has data from 2017 that shows Māori were nearly 7.7 times more likely than Pākehā to be made victims of one of these forms of police violence.”

“That trend has continued every year that the police have marched in the Pride Parade.”
PAPA’s view was that police have no place in the parade “until those statistics don’t reflect a massive disproportionate racist use of violence by police”. PAPA, however, offered to support the proposal that the police continue to march in the parade – but not in uniform.

The Grey Lynn meeting erupted. Individual and group walk-outs began. A scuffle ensued. Emotions ran high.

“It was a mess. A painful, angry mess, and showed just how deeply divided the GLBTQI+ communities are,” Stevens says. “The board has been inept in how it dealt with the entire process from the start.”

“Suddenly deciding to reverse the right of the police to march in uniform as they had for the previous three years, with no meaningful consultation, showed a complete lack of foresight as to the consequences.”

…Rainbow Police fought for the right to march in Uniform, that the Board didn’t seem to understand they would refuse point blank to accept stripping them of that right is either naive or disingenuous. Even other trans activists who work for the community believe this decision was a terrible mistake…

STACEY KERAPA, a Māori trans woman and a former K Rd sex-worker is now a graduate student doing an MA, after specialising in psychology, social work and community development.

She is adamantly supportive of uniformed police marching in the parade, despite vividly remembering the past.

The early 1990s were “a quite horrific time for the trans community”, she says. “The Homosexual Law Reform Act didn’t include trans people in any way, shape or form. We became very easy targets for police, mainly the younger police officers, those who had just graduated from the Police College and had just become constables.”

She describes what she calls “hunting exercises”, where officers needing to make an arrest quota would go up to K Rd and “find a tranny”. Resisting arrest, refusal to obey a police order, the Misuse of Drugs Act and any number of other charges could often be arbitrarily applied.

“We would fight back and they would get us into the back of the car and down to the police station and they would use what we would call ‘the old phonebook tactic’. Rather than physically harm you and leave a mark or anything like that, they would stick the phonebook up your dress and hit it with a baton, so you would feel the full impact of the hit but it wouldn’t leave any bruises or marks.”

Since then, Kerapa says, there has been a “360 degree turn-around”.

“The police are actually really quite approachable now. They don’t use the ‘hunting tactic’ anymore. The only time you ever get harassed by a police officer is when you are obviously breaking the law.”

When a member of the GLBTQI+ communities works openly in the police, Kerapa says, “they have to have a high level and standard of belief in themselves and their work. The removal of their ability to wear their uniform in Pride is a totally demoralising thing.”
Kerapa believes that the board’s decision has destroyed “nearly 35 years of progress with Police and Corrections”.

“I think what it has done to the community has shoved a wedge between all of us. We come from a community that has survived huge fragmentation. It has taken us decades to bridge those gaps. In the space of less than three months an arbitrary decision made by the board as a result of an incomplete consultation process has totally demoralised and destroyed that unity.”

…there is legitimate grievance in the class divide within the rainbow community, but it hasn’t been argued on those merits, it’s been argued on identity and that is deeply corrosive to solidarity.

When woke empowerment means exclusion, you are losing the wider battle. This Pride Parade meltdown example matters because as progressive movements are flooded with Millennials demanding trigger free safe spaces and identity politics uber allas, the ramifications for the wider political Left are sobering.

We are alienating voters with social justice fights thousands of miles away from the lived experience of poverty and exploitation by neoliberal capitalism.

So instead of a parade, we got a woke walk. The only people turning up towers a bus load of Action Station groupies, the Green Party caucus and  gender fluid activists numbering in their hundreds.

I’m not exactly sure how this counts as a progressive victory. Pure Temple politics vs Broad Church politics might win quick battles, but ultimately loses wars. The woke beat down the wider community concerns and have ended up with something that has set the entire rainbow community backwards while robbing Auckland of an important celebration in diversity.

Remember, this was all started because trans people might be triggered by a Police uniform, Everyone feeling triggered yet?

The most painful bit about the Pride Parade meltdown is that as far as the millennial protagonists who started this are concerned, it’s not in any way shape or form a blunder by the over zealous woke Board but instead a massive patriarchal capitalist conspiracy to fascistly re-instate gender binary norms.

The Rainbow Community won straight society over during the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s with a genuine message of inclusivity and family. The new militant non binary activists have upended that bridge building with cancel culture purges and screaming transphobic at any one who questions their tactics

This is pure temple politics at its most counter productive. Pride went from a 30 000 person event to 5000, and that’s considered a success???

 

Climate Crises self sabotage:

I honestly thought this was a parody but apparently it’s true. School Strike 4 Climate Auckland has disbanded because – wait for this – they are a racist organization???

The identity politics cult would eat their own young if they weren’t all vegan.

To disband a youth climate change organization because PoC suffer most from climate change ignores the fact that the planet will burn regardless of your fucking skin colour!!!

To whip themselves into such submission for an intersectionist cacophony of grievances competing for social hierarchy based upon woke dogma that all white people are intrinsically racist as a response to a burning planet is so intellectually bankrupt it’s terrifying.

Pure temple doctrine divides & alienates. Broadchurch universals build solidarity. This is self defeating identity politics madness.

School Strike 4 Climate Auckland is disbanding as an organisation.
This is under the suggestion and guidance of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) members of our group, as well as individual BIPOC activists and organisations. We are not holding any more climate strikes in the Auckland region. Our members have also separated from the national SS4C team. Going forward, we will only be using our social media to uplift BIPOC-led climate justice spaces in Auckland.
BIPOC communities are disproportionately affected by climate change, so the fight for climate justice should be led by their voices and needs, not Pākehā ones.
We are disbanding because, since 2019, SS4C AKL (as well as the wider national group, though we can’t speak on their behalf) has been a racist, white-dominated space. SS4C AKL has avoided, ignored, and tokenised BIPOC voices and demands, especially those of Pasifika and Māori individuals in the climate activism space. As well as this, the responsibility and urgent need to decolonise the organisation has been put off for far too long. SS4C also delayed paying financial reparations for the work BIPOC groups/individuals within and alongside the group have done for this organisation in the past.
This is a non-exhaustive list.
We apologise for the hurt, burnout, and trauma caused to many BIPOC individuals, including current and past members, as well as BIPOC-led groups. We also apologise for the further trauma caused by our slow action to take responsibility. We recognise that this apology can never be enough to make up for our actions on top of years of systemic and systematic oppression, racism, and the silencing of those who are the most affected by climate change. This apology is just one of our steps in taking accountability for our actions.
Our disbandment is well overdue.
We acknowledge that our attitude has been racist and dismissive of the voices that have rightly spoken out against us and we apologise deeply for the pain we have caused. In saying this, we also need to acknowledge that racism is a big problem within the SS4C NZ team as well, but that we have made this decision independently from them.
We recommend you all redirect your support, resources and involvement to BIPOC activists, spaces and causes, especially those that are led by Pasifika and Māori people. This includes groups such as 4TK ( 4TK), Pacific Climate Warriors ( Pacific Climate Warriors – Auckland ), Para Kore Ki Tāmaki ( PARA KORE KI TĀMAKI), Protect Mataharehare ( Protect Mataharehare ), Protect Pūtiki ( Protect Pūtiki), Save Canal Road Native Trees ( Save Canal Road Native Trees ), Te Ara Whātu ( Te Ara Whatu).

The climate crisis is the largest existential threat we face as a species – to divide and amputate protest against that for some middle class identity politics struggle session is so incredibly misguided.

Weaponising Te Reo:

You are not allowed to point out that barely 5% of the population speak Te Reo and that everyone who militantly fires up about it being an ‘official language’ never seem that antagonistic about the lack of sign language use. Look, my daughter goes to a Māori immersion class and when she speaks Te Reo it makes me cry joyfully and I feel more connected to NZ than any other single moment, but endlessly ramming it down people’s throats seems woke language policing rather than a shared cultural treasure. You can still be an ok human being and not speak Te Reo.

This approach has probably set Māori back.

 

Hate speech vs Free Speech:

When I warned Woke Identity Politics activists in 2018 to stop attacking Free Speech by cancelling Don Brash, gender critical feminists and Crypto-fascists Southern/Molyneux, I was doing so from a perspective that the woke identity politics activists had no comprehension of the political backlash they could inspire by waking the dormant political fault line of ACT.

In early 2018 ACT polled .7%.

After the woke identity politics activists attacked free speech, ACT soared in popularity and are now polling 15%!

From .7% in the space of 5 years to 15% represents the greatest polarisation of NZ Politics ever!

The woke’s special blend of snowflake triggers, alienating middle class smugness and cancel culture twitter Lynch mobs have done more to turn voters away from us than any single thing.

The truth is that in a capitalist democracy, the true demarcation of power is between the 1% richest plus their 9% enablers vs the 90% rest of us!

The Middle Class woke focus on identity virtue signalling because most of them have benefitted from the neoliberal economic system and so will never challenge the vested economic interests that empower them.

Post Me Too, we are now in the age of subjective rage, where there is no objective truth, the new evidential threshold is whatever someone says on social media, cancellation by woke Lynch mob is a weekly event and incel 4chan disinformation feral QAnon white supremacist death threats are a daily occurrence.

We are all now unforgivable.

When both extremes are so polarised, it’s almost impossible to stop what happens next, that’s why it was so essential to de-escalate the Dumb Lives Matters protest on Parliament Lawns.

We chose not to de-escalate that, and now we have to live with fractured dimensions of reality.

The Left is no longer a Broadchurch, it is a pure temple that has driven everyone out who doesn’t believe in woke dogma.

This is driving voters into the arms of the right because there is no shared ground or common values between Left wing activists.

Yvonne van Dongen’s blistering appraisal of free speech in NZ in the latest North & Southmagazine is worth the price. She lays out the battle lines incredibly well and highlights many of the themes driving the debate.

She covers the entire landscape of the argument from the madness of cancelling the Listener 7, to the emergence of the Platform to the total denial by Morgan Godfrey that there is even such a thing as cancel culture.

Siouxsie Wiles does not come out of it looking good.

What is almost as remarkable as the journalism Dongen has produced here was the behind the scenes editorial battle she had when younger millennial staff at North & South tried to have the story changed or cancelled because she spoke to Sean Plunket!

By banning free speech and demanding trigger free safe spaces, the Left have lost the skill of arguing our side and winning.

By focusing on virtue signals for middle class social justice, we have forgotten about economic justice for beneficiaries, the working classes and renters.

That’s why we on the Left aren’t attracting voters and that’s what the Left misunderstand about the free speech debate and that’s why they shouldn’t have awoken the dormant political fault line of ACT back in 2018, just like I warned.

Spike in online hate toward trans community after Posie Parker visit – researchers

The recent visit by British anti-trans rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull has sparked a massive increase in the level of online hatred directed at the trans community here.

Analysts monitoring online extremism say it has hit new lows with one researcher describing it as “genocidal”.

They say the content is now being widely distributed by anti-mandate and anti-government groups.

And there are fears violence could spill out into the world.

Meanwhile, the researchers say the amount of hate being directed at the Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson is now as bad as that towards former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Shaneel Lal was a central figure in the protest against the visit by Keen-Minshull, known as Posie Parker.

Late last week Shaneel Lal was named Young New Zealander of the Year for their for work for rainbow communities – including the fight to ban conversion therapy.

The spotlight has prompted a backlash. Lal has been threatened with violence and feared for their safety at the awards ceremony in Auckland last Thursday and the threats prompted extra security at the event.

Let’s just be very clear where the line here is.

MANY New Zealander’s watched the pure trans joy and saw a woman literally chased from the town square, and MANY were critical of that mob aggression because political violence is an anathema to the vast majority of Kiwis.

Boldly proclaiming everyone who had a legitimate issue with what has transpired post Posie Parker as some kind of Trans hating Crypto-Fascist is the last cup of cold sick we are demanding voters drink before we allow them to vote for us.

The naked aggression that Dr Bryce Edwards is getting for daring to challenge woke dogma is extremely instructive to everyone else watching on how being woke is a belief system as opposed to an intellectual philosophy and its cult level vitriol is saved only for heretics.

The tsunami of outrage from the middle class woke online against Dr Edwards critique of the Disinformation Projects attempt to grow the seeds of a culture war by labelling everyone who had a concern by the mob violence at the Posie Parker was a transphobic white supremacy extremist.

Dr Edwards highly pointed out that this type of wide sweeping claims based on global social media only causes further alienation.

For critiquing and labelling the tensions on the Left, the woke middle class faction are attempting to cancel Dr Edwards with complaints to his University and an online hate campaign that smells like a mob.

The woke are feeling a lot of push back now and for the first time since 2016 are feeling like they are losing control of the narrative and for groups who had little to no voice before losing the thrill of control they enjoy now is terribly alarming and incandescent with rage level self righteousness.

Expect a night of the long tweets as the Woke implode into social media lynchings of heretics and blasphemers as pure temple politics divide once again into purity Kibbutz and hemp Teepees.

The outrage olympics and vilification by the woke is as ugly as the Right but smarter.

At no point will the woke and their drive to alienate everyone who isn’t as pure and them occur as the reason the Left are losing politically.

While the woke middle class activist base fuels a culture war the Left can’t politically win, the Right are laughing all the way to the bank..

 

The Disinformation Project have every right to make the arguments they do, but their wide sweeping claims that everyone who had a problem with what occurred at the Posie Parker fiasco is some type of Transphobic Nazi is fucking insane.

Posie Parker is a toxic trans troll anger grifter whose offensive rhetoric erases Trans people from existence.

Look, I have concerns about the aggressiveness of the trans community and their cancel culture militancy along with their mob thugs veto violence – but I ultimately want our trans community to enjoy the same agency as every other citizen because that’s the promise of a liberal progressive democracy, Posie Parker on the other hand, uses inflammatory rhetoric that seeks to erase all Trans identity.

She has appeared in videos with far-right YouTube personality Jean-François Gariépy, as well as posting a selfie with Norwegian neo-Nazi Hans Jørgen Lysglimt Johansen.

Posie Parker is a manifestation of what happens when you allow cancel culture to dictate the debate. Free speech allows her to speak, and it allows you to protest her when she speaks, but descending into a culture war where street violence is justified is simply playing into her hands.

Painting everyone with woke guilt for crimes against identity politics dogma for being alarmed at the militancy on display as the Disinformation Project does feeds that culture war, it doesn’t challenge it!

It empowers a security State that is already easily triggered.

Incredibly woke Academics like Professor Kidman have been appointed to the Academy of Extremism who helps the Intelligence Apparatus spot enemies of the State.

Professor Kidman attacked the Auckland University Politics Department for calling their Cat ‘Governor Grey’ because according to the good Professor, Governor Grey was a genocidal force for evil and the Auckland University Politics Department was celebrating that.

Professor Kidman then led a cancel campaign against Trellis Cooper for supposedly making a genocidal dress.

So the person with the most easily triggered woke thresholds is advising the Spies on who to go after.

Also consider how the most radioactive woke activist in NZ was just appointed as the media witch hunter for the Disinformation Project. 

By critiquing the Disinformation Project for displaying the same outrage olympics that the Wellington middle class maoists did when labelling all the parliamentary Protestors white supremacist Nazis, Dr Bryce Edwards is bringing a class and identity critique to the culture wars.

Trying to censor him, vilify him, have him sacked or canceled shows you how utterly committed to the cause the woke are.

They would eat their own if they weren’t all vegans.

We can not allow Dr Bryce Edwards to be cancelled by them threatening his job or his role in the media.

If we allow the Emerald Stormtroopers to censor our public Political Scientists then they won’t stop anytime anyone challenges their identity politics dogma.

Gerrymandered sexual assault laws:

On top of the existing protections for victims of sexual assault, the Greens wanted to actively gerrymander the current defence to rape by having past sexual history between accuser and the accused wiped from the Jury.

The only defence to rape when there isn’t a disagreement over the event occurring is that the one being accused thought they had consent and they use past sexual history to arrive at that consent.

By eliminating this defence on top of eroding the right to silence alongside promises that the victim won’t ever have to come back for cross examinations, the Greens hope to gerrymander a system of justice that is tailor-made to ensure the guilt of the accused.

Just consider that for a moment.

These changes were not about ensuring justice, these changes are about ensuring guilty convictions.

The argument was, because so few allegations of sexual assault get prosecuted and convicted, they would change the law and remove available defence to ensure guilt.

That is the total opposite of Justice.

I can’t tell the difference between a Woke Lynch mob or a Sensible Sentencing Lynch mob.

B-E-L-I-E-V-E all women means it is better for 9 innocent white heteronormative white cis males to go to jail than one single guilty white heteronormative white cis male goes free.

 

Gay Conversion Laws:

5 years in jail for Gay Conversion Therapy? Sweet Jesus at Mardi Gras, that’s an eye watering State overreach of power for a practice that can’t be even be numerically quantified.

This smells like a terrible woke overreach.

5 years in prison for chasing gay ghosts out of people is insanely punitive when compared to a range of other crimes!

Why is it that we on the Left are first to argue that prison is a violent counter productive organization and yet the second we have power to punish people for our issues we hold dear we get all Caligula like with revenge fantasies!

5 years for a religious teacher or acolyte who helps in a pray the gay away jamboree is martyrdom not reasonable punishment!

As far as I am concerned, anyone who believes in a magical flying invisible spell casting Wizard for their moral and ethical compass and uses that magical flying invisible spell casting Wizard to force a sexual orientation on another human being is fucking insane and incredibly damaging.

You can’t pray the gay ghosts away and anyone suggesting otherwise is a demented clown.

However, our own Ministry of Health questioned banning gay conversion therapy and that needs to be acknowledged and understood more because they claim criminalising this would be more detrimental.

Are we saying an adult who chooses to pray the Gay away is not allowed to? Who defines the series harm to trigger a criminal act?

What if there is no malicious intent by the person doing the praying? What if they believe this garbage?

Now again, I think that person needs to seek actual counselling and real therapy to come to peace with who they are, but are we going to criminalise if people choose this hocus pocus?

Who will we be arresting here? The religious quack selling this nonsense or the person who assists?

I think Gay Conversion Therapy is crazy and harmful and stupid, but I think there are an enormous amount of things that are crazy, harmful and stupid that we don’t criminalise.

What I would hate to see is some religious nutter actively attempting to breach the law and becoming a martyr for this stupid cause.

I agree that the civil process via the HRC would be successful and a far better way to respond to this, but criminalising it with such extreme punishment is an enormous overreach.

We surely have far greater issues confronting us than criminalising a disgraced religious practice that we don’t know how many people are actually committing.

The radioactive Trans debate:

This debate is so toxic and anyone asking any question gets immediately decried as transphobic. I’ve seen nuclear reactor meltdowns that are less radioactive than this debate. I’m so terrified I’m not going to say anything other than ‘please don’t hurt my family’ for even mentioning it.

When it comes to the whole Trans debate, I’m old fashioned. I think finding your true self and being comfortable in your own skin is one of the most important journeys of the human experience.

The idea that there are some men who believe they are women and some women who believe they are men and some people who believe they are both and some people who believe they are neither is as uncontroversial to me as the range of human skin, eye and hair colour.

Referring to someone by their preferred pronouns and identity is just basic good will courtesy offered to every fellow citizen.

If a trans person wishes to share a prison cell or locker room with me, I don’t care, but where I get cancelled by the woke is when I also agree that biological women have a right to philosophically and intellectually challenge some of the identity politics dogma that is being used here because but ultimately impacts them most.

The point blank refusal to take a sober reflection on why the UK’s only youth gender identity clinic closed, and what that means for New Zealand highlights how much repressed the debate has become.

I have many self declaring feminist women who privately tell me they have real misgivings with some of the Trans woke dogma but are terrified of saying anything because the Fourth Wave Feminists, non-binary activists and trans ally vegan mommy bloggers rip them to pieces on social media. Part of the problem is that the Trans activists themselves have helped make this debate so radioactively toxic with their cancel culture dynamics.

Remember, Intersex, or DSD (difference of sexual development), is a rare medical condition affecting 0.018% of the population. How on earth have we destroyed the solidarity of our movement for .018% of the population?

How can a fraction that small be the issue we cancel others from our movement for?

 

Midwifes vs Midpersons:

Fresh from attempting to cancel Shakespeare, the woke are at it again.

This time they are removing the words mother and woman from the Scope of Midwifery.

The ‘Scope’ defines what it means to be a midwife in New Zealand and you would think the vast, vast, vast majority of those using their service are women becoming mothers.

Apparently however, assuming the vast vast vast majority of those using Midwifes are women becoming mothers is a hate crime these days and you will be cancelled for thinking otherwise.

Here’s the original Scope where Woman is referenced widely and the term Mother used, here’s the proposed Scope where Women and Mother have been removed altogether.

If they are this triggered by the words ‘Woman’ and ‘Mother’ shouldn’t they be Midpersons instead of Midwifes?

Professional Managerial Class Outrage Olympics and political polarisation:

Labour’s reliance on consultants is part of their cultural Professional Managerial Class capture.

The Wellington Bureaucracy isn’t left wing! It’s a self interested Professional Managerial Class who use identity politics to mask their neoliberal hands-off-do-nothing-but-build-glass-palaces fiefdoms.

Oh they do the reo, and expose their pronouns and militantly ride bikes, they are effortless in their use of inclusion as a means to dominate and control the narrative, but they are a middle class clique, not left wing egalitarianism.

The Wellington Bureaucracy is a culture war of woke middle class Identity Politics aspirations backed with State funding, they may aesthetically be Left but they sure as fuck aren’t economically Left.

Likewise the consultancy industry that feed on their Wellington relationships with the Self Serving Public Service, they are also part of the woke washed culture clique whose interests are not ours.

We are spending A Million dollars a day is spent on motels for vulnerable people causing enormous social carnage with no real wrap around support services present  and 25 000 are on emergency waiting lists – we can’t solve those problems apparently but the Government can spend a billion dollars on consultants each year?

You can not spend a billion dollars a year on the professional managerial class in consulting while 150 499 children live in extreme poverty, while we hand out 100 000 food packages each month while our mental health system screams.

You can’t spend a billion dollars a year on consultants while so many are in material hardship.

What happens is we have huge numbers of managers and very few staff. The mangers look after their interests, the staff get sacked and hired back as consultants and the same cultural clique keep getting paid while the misery of the poor is ignored.

The Wellington Woke Professional Managerial Class and their cosy relationships with consultants is a reminder they aren’t economically left, they are aesthetically left.

The holy trinity of woke identity politics dogma is:

In the name of the non-binary mother, non-binary daughter and the monthly ghost: All white people are irredeemable racists, all men are rapists and anyone defending free speech is a uniform wearing Nazi.

There is absolutely no wriggle room in that mantra and purging anyone who doesn’t confirm to the language cues

It is a belief system based on feelings and intersectionist power bureaucracy that dismantles heteronormative white cis male dynamics first.

Real low vibe Saturday night party this one. About as attractive as a cup of cold sick that you have to drink before you can sign up as a fully paying member who never challenges what the diversity committee designates.

Economic Justice vs Social Justice:

The Left has lurched into woke ‘Social Justice’ territory which alienates more than it attracts.

Economic Justice does more than banning Gay Conversion, criminalising speech or gerrymandering the legal system to ensure anyone accused is found guilty, it redistributes wealth and makes direct provision to the cost of every day living. Beneficiaries and working class people care less about pronouns and the correct pronunciation of te Reo than they do about how to pay next weeks rent and power bill!

 

The lens of identity as the only journalism:

With 60% of our newsrooms now female, the lens of woke identity seems to be all that matters.

The latest example however takes that lens of woke identity and has instead manufactured our first ‘Purity of Identity’ journalism.

I’ve argued and have used example after example of how the woke newsrooms covered Carmel Sepuloni’s rise as Deputy.

I’ve noted how every single one of them glossed over her appalling record as Minister for Welfare to instead sing praises of her win from purely an identity perspective.

Read The Spinoff, Stuffs and NZ Heralds review of her appointment and it’s all identity politics soaked ‘you go girl’ feminism that champions her being the first Pacific Island Deputy.

There is no reflection whatsoever on her time as Minister presiding over the very weak and vulnerable that those woke newsrooms profess to care about, because when we do that, the gloss strips away very quickly.

Now let me be clear, I love our Pacific Community, and they should celebrate a Pacific Island appointee after the decades and decades of loyalty they’ve shown the Labour Party, but by only viewing her appointment through the middle class identity politics lens, The Spinoff, Stuff and NZ Herald have miss the real story an do their readers a terrible disservice.

For the woke, diversity and representation are the only currency, meritocracy is a heteronormative white male privilege and nothing matters more than identity.

Which is deeply problematic because a critical analysis of Carmel Sepuloni’s time as Social Welfare Minister highlights how shallow The Spinoff, Stuff and NZ Heralds ‘journalism’ is.

The Labour Government has cut the benefits of around 4000 sick, injured of disabled jobseekers in the last five years because they weren’t preparing to return to work fast enough.

…and most appallingly, the Minister gutlessly acquiesced to State Services to remove the Children’s Commissioner from overseeing Oranga Tamariki which will see vulnerable children in State care made even more vulnerable.

Carmel Sepuloni is a Labour Party Social Welfare Minister, in her time she has implemented no recommendations to make life easier for beneficiaries, she has thrown 4000 disabled beneficiaries off welfare and  she has made the life of vulnerable children in state care far more dangerous, and yet as far as the female journalists at Spinoff, Stuff and NZ Herald are concerned none of that matters because hashtag feminism, hashtag diversity.

This is an appalling state of journalism, but the latest example of it manages to take the lens of woke identity to a whole new threshold, “Purity of Identity”

The rapid ascent of Carmel Sepuloni, our first Pasifika deputy prime minister

…not only are Carmel’s lack of progress on Welfare Expert Advisory Group recommendations, sanctioning 4000 beneficiaries and making vulnerable children in State care less protected never acknowledged, her identity is now sponged clean of any history that could be used as a negative stereotype.

I wasn’t going to bring this up previously, because the previous articles had focused on cheerleading Carmel’s identity while eclipsing her actual record as Welfare Minister, but seeing as the latest article by Stuff focuses so strongly on her family as Identity, then the “Purity of Identity” journalism on display here is even more disingenuous.

How is it in a column that is so focused on her family that Stuff completely miss this out…

Mother of Labour MP Carmel Sepuloni admits $100K benefit fraud

The mother of Labour MP Carmel Sepuloni and her partner have admitted 23 benefit fraud charges totalling nearly $100,000.

Beverley Anne Sepuloni and partner Michael Charles Rangi entered guilty pleas to the charges, committed over more than a decade until last year, when they appeared before Judge Allan Roberts in the New Plymouth District Court today.

…Stuff miss it out because “Purity of Identity” journalism demands that not only do you put Identity above all, you expunge that Identity of any stereotype that can be used negatively against the person being profiled.

So Carmel’s mother being bashed by MSD for their bullshit relationship Fraud trap is completely ignored by the woke as that could be construed as a negative stereotype when it reality it actually gives real insight into Carmel’s reluctance to do anything meaningful on welfare reform!

Firstly, Carmel’s mother should never have been humiliated by this prosecution in the first place because it is spiteful and malicious to use relationships as a welfare trap to make money off beneficiaries.

It is obscene!

Secondly, it reeks of a MSD hit job. What better way to undermine a new welfare Minister than busting their mum for fraud?

Thirdly, many critics of Carmel point to her Mum getting set up for Fraud as a reason she has been so hands off on dumping the relationship fraud trap MSD rely on to make money off.

But none of that is even discussed by Stuff.

To hide Carmel’s poor results as Minister to cheerlead for her identity is one thing, but to censor parts of her history as to not trigger offence which actually provide enormous insight into why Welfare reform has been so stubbornly slow is not Journalism, it’s a Wellington Mommy Blogger vegan knitting circle using wool donated by transitioning sheep.

 

CONCLUSION:

Social media algorithms have allowed for a toxicity of debate that is easily manipulated. A symphony of sweaty truths all screaming for attention and no one listening. Woke Identity Politics activists have seized the joy of having no gatekeepers to express how much they hate white men while alt right Incel Nazi’s have seized upon the joy of having no gatekeepers to express how much they hate everyone else.

Millennial woke culture sees macro violence coming from micro aggressions and piously police those micro aggressions with virtue signalling purity mantras.

Alt Right Incel Nazis see white persecution and create some bullshit replacement narrative to justify their powerlessness and feed that resentment online.

Most people are on social media and most people have a woke activist or Qanon fanatic in their social media feed screaming their feverish truths. While these activists certainly think they are speaking truth to power by endlessly calling people out for breaches of woke mantra or fake news anti Trump lies, to everyone else they are simply toxic.

People stop seeing the political party and only see the activist and in the end proxification means the activist becomes the proxy representation of the Party, and seeing as people have negative feelings towards the proxy, they turn from the Party.

Voters aren’t voting on policy, they are voting on who made them feel resentful on social media!

The political is the personal now means what hurts me personally becomes political.

Before social media activists could only face each other off at protests or through letters to the editor or talkback radio. There were constraints of interaction but with social media there are none and it turns out the freedom to insult and dehumanise others is more addictive than nicotine, alcohol and meth combined.

Wokeness has become a puritanical religion with none of the beauty – it’s not so much the personal virtue signal, we are all dicks at times, it’s the weaponization by algorithms that make it so dangerous and damaging.

The danger of identity politics is that it locks people intellectually into only defining the world through their skin colour, genitalia or sexual orientation – it also becomes toxically subjective and tribal where the only solidarity is with other people who share the skin colour or genitalia or sexual orientation- without shared truths and values, the 1% and their 9% enablers continue to divide the rest of us 90%.

Pure temple doctrine divides & alienates. Broadchurch universals build solidarity.

I’m not interested in social justice wokedom any more, it is a minefield of competing schisms throwing vitriol at one another.

Twitter outrage is woke righteousness porn for the middle classes. A puritanical razoring where the self elected morality police publicly shame and cancel anyone for not using the language protocols of the conclave.

I am interested in Economic Justice and the immediate welfare of the poorest amongst us while providing immediate life condition upgrades.
