The number of New Zealand citizens leaving the country long-term continues to set new records, Stats NZ said today.
New data for the year to September shows a net migration loss of 54,700 New Zealand citizens in the September 2024 year.
This record net loss of New Zealand citizens was driven by a record 79,700 migrant departures, which more than offset the arrival home of 24,900 Kiwis.
The figure surpasses the revised figure of 54,378 in the year to August.
Funny isn’t it, if a 1000 kiwis were leaving each week to create the largest migration out of NZ in modern history and the Labour Party was in power, news headlines would be screaming at Labour and blaming them for it, yet National are in power and not a fucking whisper of complaint or challenge over this Government’s appalling economic direction and abdication of responsibility.
The double standards from our mainstream media is one of the the reasons why the Mainstream media are dying.
This mass exodus is National’s problem and they are doing nothing about it!

Nearly 40% of the Kiwis who left the country last year were aged under 30, new migration data shows, as New Zealand experienced its largest calendar year net loss of citizens.
The sheer incompetence of this Government is staggering.
They imposed a massive public funding amputation using an Austerity Budget that borrowed more for tax cuts we cant afford while hollowing out actual money for public services.
This led to a total shut down of the construction industry for public housing builds and has seen workers flee to Australia!
National did this, National take the blame.
My advice for young Kiwis is to turn and run from NZ!
While this vicious racist anti-women, anti-Māori, anti-Treaty, anti-Renter, anti-environment, anti-worker, anti-beneficiary Government is in power, flee these shores but remember to vote them out next year!

I’ve been here in South East QLD since August. It’s not all roses as Australia has cost of living issues too, but overall it’s a better package. Wages a bit higher, overtime, better weather, and a lack of the graffiti that can make an eyesore of many Auckland streets
What it seems we are experiencing is a ‘population churn’ here in that huge numbers of European New Zealanders are leaving and being replaced with similar large numbers of immigrants from China and India etc – so essentially the very nature of NZ is changing and we are well on our way to just being a new Singapore (without the dynamic economy to match).
When Jacinda was leader they were screaming and bitching because they had to wait to get in .

Just as the Trump tariff war has left USA with it worst travel stats in recorded history, this government’s policies are recording the worst emigration stats in NZ, and it’s the future of the country which is leaving in droves. I would suggest that up 80% of families here have relatives, young relatives, who have up sticks and gone – for good, or at least until there is a government returned that is prepared to reinstate the post WWII cradle to the grave policy. If they’re anything like my family, they know how it was during the 60s & 70s and into the 80s. When they ask why it changed, my answer is greed. They nod and say, well they want that type of country, they can have it, but I won’t be here.
That, my friends, is GenY and the millennials. They’ve seen it all, the lies and manipulation, and they’re disgusted by it. And then they vote with their feet.
In retrospect Jacinda Ardern did the right thing, she saved lives and tried to instill kindness into society. Some who opposed her are now having second thoughts. The current government is really out of their depth and needs to be replaced with governance more aligned with Jacinda Ardern’s principles. Mike Hosking is not worth commenting on as he is just a mouthpiece for the National party.
Hosking is a brilliant arsehole posing as a mouthpiece that swallows and farts bits of blue crap.
