Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton and the politics of climate denial
For many Americans it is easier to believe the Government are controlling the weather and creating cyclones than it is to believe human made pollution is causing global warming producing more extreme weather events.

Climate Change has always been an existential threat to our species. What Helene and Milton show us is the impact of what happens when you get by the next climate event before you have rebuilt from the last one.
Watching Americans tell themselves that these Hurricanes are being caused by a Democratic Government rather than global warming is proof positive of just how extreme the political polarisation has become.
We have the exact same level of climate denial in NZ with Shane Jones leading the charge, empowered by the polluter donor class and Corporate Dairy. That’s why what Greenpeace are doing is so important…

With a 75 percent chance of it happening within the next 50 years, there is justified interest in the likely magnitude, extent and intensity of ground shaking and impacts on the landscape, infrastructure and buildings.
..Our new research reveals for the first time that the Alpine Fault ruptured from south to north in the great magnitude 8+ earthquake of 1717.
We developed our technique to determine rupture direction based on the Kekerengu Fault after the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake. But our method is globally applicable for use in realistic earthquake scenarios and thus can contribute to better societal preparedness…

Carbon credits and trading is infected with fraud ,,, talk of capturing and sequestering carbon underground by a yet to be invented method is fraud mouthed by polluting industries….
“Industrial hemp absorbs between 8 to 15 tonnes of CO2 per hectare of cultivation.” “In comparison, forests typically capture 2 to 6 tonnes of CO2 per hectare per year ” ….A hemp industry would create jobs and economic growth in both rural and city areas,,,

Greenpeace’s climate change solution is to stop eating meat and drinking milk. Yeah, nah. They assert that big ag companies force consumers to eat milk and dairy and force farmers to produce meat and dairy as if eating meat and dairy wasn’t determined by evolution.
