  1. Perhaps Richard McLeod should also tell us that he’s a member of the ultra-conservative Catholic group Opus Dei, and that he believes life is sacred from conception to death (at God’s behest). He does a lot of good work for asylum seekers and is a very principled, admirable man but he should tell us when his religion means he will never accept any law change that allows an assisted death, no matter how many safeguards are instituted, or how much evidence from overseas shows it is safe.   2. I’d like those lawyers to butt out of my life. I’ve lived 70 plus years without their help. I’d like to exit my life on the same terms.
