    1. You’d think they’d have the decency to leave one public service working. They and their families might need the health service. Can’t go private for everything.
My cousin just told me she’s thinking hard about taking redundancy.

  1. The CoC vandals are running the place into the ground as per Martyn’s list–with unemployment rising sharply–then the newly sacked are pummelled by MSD/WINZ just to make things a bit more miserable for them.

Under capitalism there is never going to be full employment, the parasite class need a reserve group of labour to put downward pressure on wages and working class organisation, but with the 3% unemployed range the last Govt. had got it as low as is likely with good flow on effects. Then…migrant labour was opened up again with no infrastructure increase…so the majority in NZ are headed for a tough couple of years anyway you slice it.

This is the time for organisation and action, not waiting passively until 2026.
    • Occupy empty ghost houses and commercial property
    • Join a union, start one at your workplace

    • Support local community action like health workers and food pantries etc. do something practical for your neighbours
    • Participate in local democracy by going to Council and Community Board meetings, support retention of Māori Wards. There is a schism emerging between local and central Govt. after the Natzos dropped them in it over crumbling water infrastructure which led to huge rate increases, exploit it for your community’s sake.

    1. I share your frustration and I ask myself what is it that the right are doing that enables them to successfully outflank the left. Most average people whether working or middle class do not benefit from center right economic policies or culture war division – so why do they vote for it?
What are they watching, reading, listening to end up thinking that a crueler and meaner government is going to benefit them and the families in the future presumably?

      1. One of my estranged rellies is a landlord so she voted National. I wonder what she thinks of her choice now.

  2. “Bending over backwards for the Tobacco Industry, Mining Industry and Real Estate Pimps”

More like, bent the nation over forwards.

  3. I wonder if a whole gang of Comachero would have been arrested under Labour’s reign or would they have been given a grant to dhtart a Friendship group.

    1. Comanchero’s were allowed to establish under Key’s friendship group reign, fact. So rightfully the right wing government should clean up their own mess or would they like a bipartisan approach with this also because they’re clueless?

  4. Under labour Trev they would still be living in Aus where they came from, they are a gift from John key and his 501 policy

    1. Sorry but not John Key’s policy it is the will of the Australian government of both colors. They send them back to all countries that is why the Pacific Islands are now ravaged by drugs.
These guys arrived in NZ under Labour’s time in office . They took over another gangs pad in Chch .

  5. Sadly the idiots that were against Jacinda are the same mentality as the MAGA fuckwits in the USA.

  6. What about this poisonous garden of weeds on The Platform chaired by Michael Laws who seems to have a strange magnetic effect on some people. Perhaps that reveals all – they have had metal transplants in their brains. The comments all sound as if they come from people with stomach ulcers and constipation too. Very unhappy chappies and females as well.

Michael Laws Exposes the Irony in Jacinda Ardern’s Kindness & Empathy Mission

Walls is so full of himself – so emphatic and disgruntled even disgusted, at Dame Jacinda having a new job and hates her like a noxious gossiping neighbour would hate someone who simply disagreed and then rose in status for not knowing ‘her place’!

    1. Greywarbler Kind persons don’t have to go around telling people that they’re kind. New Zealand’s geographical isolation and small population contributed majorly to keeping the covid death toll down.

      1. And because certain restrictions were put in place. Had that not happened, it would have been open slather. Our isolation wouldn’t have cut it with plane loads arriving every day.

It follows that if kind people don’t have to go round telling people they are kind, that people who know how to run the economy, don’t have to go round telling people they know best about running the economy.

      2. Don’t know what you are on about. Kind people live that way in their actions, which must always be governed by what is practical and should be fair.. No-one should be smothered by kindness, In the case of Covid it was a decision by NZ Labour government to attempt the practical thing with a kind intent.

But along the lines of implementation and understanding some unreasonable things were done that were not practical and that outweighed the kindness. It however was an unprecedented emergency. Some Kiwis wouldn’t understand reasonable practicality if it bit them in the bum.

  7. Labour must’ve been really crap to make this lot look like a viable alternative.
