  1. “A romanticised view of Māori Capitalism is that it operates with cultural values that are more humane and empathetic”
A view mainly held by affluent urban Pākehā. Not a view held by working class urban Māori.

“But if it’s a trojan horse for Corporate Iwi to promote Māori Capitalism as venal as Pakeha Capitalism, what are we gaining?”
This was exactly an objection to 3/5 Waters from those who support co-governance but saw the proposals, especially ‘mana o te wai’ statements, as an open door to ‘brown-washing’ corporate special interests. Proposals that would inevitably collide, dividing Māori from Pākehā, Iwi from Iwi, hapu from hapu.

  2. I have always thought it was a a falsehood to say Maori were more environmentally conscious than pakeha. They burnt vast tracks of land while hunting and clearing land .They killed of the Moa and many other native creatures. The only reason they did not polute more was thai numbers were small and they lived a very basic existance compared to current times .

  3. Seems to me its Pakeha trying to save the Oceans from Maori exploitation
