  1. Interesting:
“The release of the Indicators of Violence guidelines follows similar moves in other countries in the Five Eyes alliance of which New Zealand is a member.”
    What does this mean?
Does this mean we write the code here, or does it mean we get the code sent via starlink from silicone valley?
In the UK there are probably fifty words which describe a bread roll, depending on the locality. In the States we have a hamburger bun, etc. In the South Island we have cheese rolls, Australians eat pies and wraps etc I don’t know about Canada but my point being, linguistically, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bread_rolls
I recently came across someone whose stated mission was to make all english language the american version. ugh shudder, dropped them quick. There are vast differences in the meanings of spoken words within relatively small geographical areas. Written language comes across nuanced quite differently and only an adept will exploit that.
I am disappointed by the use of incomprehensible newspeak which is being so unashamedly promoted by those writers of policy which no one else can understand/ the interpretations are incredibly malleable.
To quote one of your links:
‘This outright violent hatred of women which was once only found on gaming forums like 4Chan and other dark corners of the Internet then bleeds back to Facebook, Twitter and impacts mainstream political discourse.’
I believe this acknowledgement of the permeability of data validates my point that the reason Julian Assange is imprisoned by the dark force of imperialism is that he showed on Wikileaks the completed circuit from the extreme violence of the gaming world to the gates at Fallujah.
In other words, the US army personnel shooting civilians and wounded medics were drone operators who could not seperate the training on their virtual machines from the on the ground reality.
Sara Templeton rocks. Why don’t more women speak up? ask Anita Sarkesian.

  2. So these Woke types cheer the setting up of this new police state and then the Tories and their ilk(or worse)win the next election.

Then what? Maybe they won’t come for you but what about your kids or your niece?

  3. I think can be seen a symptom of late-stage-capitalism as globalisation collapses some and a successor model is sought to the post-Bretton Woods world order. Expect a trend towards authoritarianism under any pretext (culture war issues are a convenience) as the elite classes everywhere, not just in the west, seek to consolidate and maintain power and control in a time of economic, social and political flux.
