I recently came across someone whose stated mission was to make all english language the american version. ugh shudder, dropped them quick.There are vast differences in the meanings of spoken words within relatively small geographical areas. Written language comes across nuanced quite differently and only an adept will exploit that.

I think can be seen a symptom of late-stage-capitalism as globalisation collapses some and a successor model is sought to the post-Bretton Woods world order.
