  1. Fortunately everyone gets their news on the internet now. Thanks for a bit of perspective Ross.

  2. As i stated in a previous reply to your Russia blog, (which seems to have disappeared into the ether like a number of others)? For many years you and i would have been on opposite sides of the fence in most things. Reading your common sense and informed blogs on this site i would suspect that now we are probably in agreement on 99% of things. As a listener of 40 years to rnz national radio i totally agree with your pro american propaganda assesment. Over the past year or so i have slowly started drifting away to other stations, much rubbish, but at least you know where they are coming from. To be honest i suppose i hoped against hope that nat radio might return to the reasonably balanced and accurate reporting that it once had, but i am almost certain now that ain’t gonna happen. I agree with D J S. that most news is now obtained from the internet (selectively).

    1. Good to read
The fact that Bolton(bent on undoing Trumps directive to leave Syria) was denied an audience with Erdogan, and ditto Pompeo with NK leader Kim Jong Un, signals that these hawks will no longer be considered to be the USG.
      Its Trump or nobody
Which means that Trumps long held desire to bring the troops home may get some traction .
And if the US does go in to an “isolationist” phase, well Hallebloodyluja!
I got sick to death of the anti Russian spiel on RNZ
Kim Hill’s fawning over frauds like Bill Browder, Peter Pomerantsev and Luke Harding
I can only imagine that Kim’s research crew get their required reading lists from (directly or indirectly ) the US Embassy

And thank the lord for Moon of Alabama!

    1. I give a sigh of relief when I read your comments Francesca. Sanity restored.
      Thank you.

  4. We have been fed the pro USA story ever since I was a kid in the 1950’s, I had an uncle who was a US Navy pilot in Korea during that offensive.

Visited Cuba a number or years ago and read some Cuban History, what an interesting country and history. Totally different perspective on Cuba having visited and experienced the local people, also understanding Cubans as a people. They do not wholeheartedly support the regime, however they are a well educated and proud race of people.

The USA has a chequered history in many parts of the world, which I do not understand.
