  1. Send in JT (John Tamihere) this is letterly the last chance Aucklanders are going to get to unfuck yourselves. Good luck.

    1. @Sam + 1, let’s face it, can JT be worse than Phil Goff? I doubt it.

Time for a change of Mayor.

Phil has been doing nothing for ratepayers and spending up a storm on his favourite projects for his favourite mates aka tourists and Zhang Yipun and Puhinui upgrades (handy to his home in South Auckland).

It’s time we gave someone else a go at trying to unravel the clusterfuck of Auckland council and it’s jolly (sarcasm) cohort of COO’s and work for the ratepayers not their next private donation or Rogernomics ideology!

      1. Well I think JT is correct about a number of things, one sticks out to me. JT is correct about Auckland being unable to sustain 3 premier stadiums, Eden Park, Ericson and some new build on the water front. Personally I believe Eden Park is spent. It can only host certain events because locals can’t handle the noise. We can’t afford a new build. That just leaves upgrading Ericson Stadium. I think JT ought to be elected on that one policy alone, just plain old ordinary policy.

  2. Perth was able to build the Mandurah Line (the equivalent of electrified 130 km/h rail to Mercer) for A$1.6 bn, including some downtown works. One or two Aussie academics I’ve spoken to say that the difference between low-cost Australian rail projects and the way that the sky’s the limit in NZ is down to the fact that the Australians are investing in rail all the time and as such they’ve got more of a handle on things. It sounds like our bespoke rail might be like our bespoke houses.

  3. Meanwhile Phil Twyford is spending $billions on a street car down Dominion Road that will not connect with the airport. And will only be to the benefit of the developers, (much as the now mothballed tram down on the waterfront was used as an advertising enticement for the Development of the North Wharf complex). It is quite clear that Phil Twyford, just as he is with Kiwibuild, is fully in the thrall of the private developers. Private developers are the main beneficiary of Kiwibuild, just as they will be the main beneficiary of the tram down Dominion Road. Whether the commuters and residents along the length of Dominion Road will be happy with all the condos and congestion that the tram line will bring to the area will be another story.

Time for Phil to go, he is not working for the people of NZ and his actions are working against the country.
