  1. Jose Ramos Horta might be right. He and we, who live in Timor-Leste know Indonesia differently and we also know the lessons about independence, the Indonesia of 1975 and now is very different. Timor is relatively well off because of Oil, but other than that Horta knows in many respects in hindsight another relationship with a democratic and fairer Indonesian may have had better results for Timor-Leste. Horta is not an apologist for Indonesia, he is a realist an from what I have read and know about him, he does not usually get these things wrong

  2. Dear Sir or Maire Leadbeater,

I personally share some of your perspective, but to state “He Is A Cheerleader for Indonesia rule in West Papua”, you are incorrect and/or wrong. Because, his visit itself is a positive sign for the international world to understand that, there is something happening in West Papua. You have your ways/forms of playing your political role and so does Horta.

So, I would advice you to read what’s happening behind Horta’s visit to West Papua? I believe some of his statements are obvious indications that there are human right violations going on in the country.

    Cheers,

  3. The Tamil Tigers were offered autonomy, turned it down and got wiped out. I can see the same happening to the West Papuan freedom fighters if they don’t get pragmatic.
