Given that New Zealand’s economic viability is dependent on the degree to which it aligns itself with the interests of those nations that lead its geo-political bloq, often to the detriment of its own international reputation, it could be argued that were these new laws to be enacted, the government of New Zealand would be in breach of them.

  5. Thanks for your articulate critique Maire. With so much going on, I struggle to get on top of some of the issues, the role you play to promoting wider understanding of the dangers is very important.

  6. I would have thought North Korea’s actions as per non proliferation were problematic to other nations in the Pacific.

    It’s hardly consistent to oppose AUKUS Pillar 2 and want to end sanctions on North Korea.

    Signing trade agreements advantages foreign corporations of other nations besides the USA.

    These are the more obvious weaknesses in the argument made.
