  1. The third problem may is the people who they are hiring to take these senior positions: people who speak a mean powhari ( ironically auto corrected to ‘blowhard’) but who have – if your example has been reciprocated with the rest of the ‘wayfinders’ – a lack of skills beyond more out sourcing and it’s not me. This person displayed a lack of respect for other areas & professionals in her organizations ( to a point of unprofessional behavior) but I’m guessing they just asked her boss. Balling people out at meetings where even visiting ministry staff feel the need to ask is she ok is not a good reference but I suspect there’s a heap of these little fingers fluffing those hiring. God help us all.

  2. One hundred percent Ian, but do you think this problem only exists in the health sector?

    > Ask yourself what the 4,000 staff in the Ministry of Education do all day.
    > What has the Ministry for Women delivered in the last 5 years?
    >We have separate ministries for Māori Crown Relations, Māori Development, Treaty of Waitangi and lastly a Ministry for Diversity Inclusion and Ethnic Communities. Can you imagine the BS going on in that lot!
    >Do you wonder why they removed National’s hard performance measures and replaced it with ‘wellbeing’ (whatever that is!)

This government has added 14,000 staff to the Wellington bureaucracy in the last five years. All with a dramatic fall in deliverables. It’s a systemic problem right across the board.

    1. What a load of bullshit.

  3. Appears to be a lot of it about!….Consultants…. get paid a poultice to come up with some bullshit stuff to make them all feel good about over charging the govt for bullshit stuff!
The neo-liberal economy writ large…we see it everywhere, where once there was sound advice given to the ministers of the day now all we get gaming the system to extract more loot, that it includes wayfinders/data wranglers & story tellers where could it all possibly go wrong.
The shame is that the sheeple all pay & put up with this bullshit.

  4. With terms like data wranglers ’tis no wonder we have gender dysphoria and such. One can be treated by an impersonator and just as credibly receive the treatment due another patient. These are inherent flaws in a large system with many ports which is therefore open to manipulation. A little like waka kotahi I would say.
