    1. Under the current rules, a working person can earn $66,000 over 2 years, working 40 hours a week at minimum wage, and pays tax on every cent (plus GST when they spend it). While a person who can afford to own a property they don’t live in, can pull in something like $123,650 in capital gains over 2 years – more than twice as much money for doing *no* work – and not pay a red cent on that income.

      So, explain it to me Trevor. Why is it that working people should pay tax on the income they get from working, and rich people shouldn’t get taxed on the much larger income they get from … owning stuff? Why should Winston be helping to prop up this legal fraud against the working people of Aotearoa, instead of helping Labour and the Greens to make the rich pay (a bit more of) their fair share?
