  1. Great article. Going hand in hand with this is the poll that put Labour ahead of National. The national party media (print and radio) hacks all claim it is a rogue poll and because it is the first of the year nothing can be read into it. But wait. If the figures were reversed and National was placed ahead of Labour by the same margin the National party and its hacks would be crowing from the tree-tops.

The National party hack Barry Soper told Larry Williams on the Larry Williams afternoon radio (comedy) show that Jacinda Ardern’s speech in parliament earlier this week, “rambling” and he spoke about it in dismissive terms. I listened to to her speech and it wasn’t rambling – it made a lot of sense and yes, the Labour led Government does have a lot of work to do…..to unwind and fix nine years of the debacle created by the National Government, so of course things won’t be fixed immediately but Soper and his sycophants cannot and will not understand that.

Bridges is a “dead man walking”. But it really isn’t the next person that takes over the leadership that will be the problem. It is the National party culture and attitude, which was highlighted by the JLR revelations, that spells disaster for NZ if National get back into power. Add to that what they did to the economy and how they directed their various departments (WINZ, HNZ, MBIE etc) in terms of how people were treated over the last nine years that is the real worry. Old white men (white noise) and aggressive nasty women who get pleasure out of targeting and destroying peoples’ reputations should worry us all.

How false it was to hear the head of HNZ apologise to those of their tenants they ruthlessly and callously evicted for spurious and false reasons because under National they led the charge with glee. Being ordered, and rightly so, by the Labour led government to apologise to those tenants and rectify the situation does not mean a change of attitude by HNZ. How they must have gnashed their teeth and wailed when they were were directed to do so. If National gets back into power watch how quickly HNZ will revert back to its more comfortable position of treating its tenants with ruthless disregard. The same goes for MBIE, WINZ and the others. Look how these departments continue to act under Labour and TDB has already commented on how they seem to be acting independently of the current government. A polite way for saying running amok.
