  1. We have our differences Dave , but here I can not fault anything you have said. We do not actually have a functioning Democracy. The news media is almost completely owned and controlled by pro- capitalists/ the 1%, neo -liberals. The population is brainwashed into accepting a pro capitalist/ neo liberal agenda. We simply cannot get a progressive leftist Govt. elected in these circumstances. We get Capitalist right or Capitalist left. The latter makes it slightly better in terms of miniscule changes, that make the lives of the population slightly better.Throughout the Western world , without exception, inequality is growing. Can the news media be made more representative in terms of presenting an independent coverage of the news under the present situation? I am afraid not. If the trends are the same as we see in the U.S. our news media/ Internet will become more censorious, more oppressive, more manipulating the news by omission and downright falsification:ie like they did in the coverage of the Iraq war, Libya, and the events in the Ukraine and like they do in the N.Z. domestic political situation..So there is going to be no significant change until there is a major meltdown of Western civilization , whether by financial collapse or by inequality reaching a level where the populations will demand a complete radical reset.A scientific/ Historical/ political analysis tells me that it will happen within the next ten years. So put on your seat belt, Dave, the Capitalist Juggernaut is about to leap the tracks!!!

  2. Was incredibly pissed to hear that this Coalition govt hasn’t repealed the public service busting FTE (employee hours) cap and no transparency for contracted in work. This is simple – just remove it! Even a dummy like me knows it’s not economic to pump $3,000 a day on a contracted worker who could be hire direct for a $40,000 salary (with that salary stimulating the economy). Both the Greens and NZ First had said -when the PSA asked last year- that they were for just that. Labour was shady.
