  1. So who will be the leader in this socialist utopia?
“The line between fascism and Fabian socialism is very thin. Fabian socialism is the dream. Fascism is Fabian socialism plus the inevitable dictator.” John T. Flynn
Doesn’t New Zealand already have a Fabian socialist dictator…whoops sorry, I mean leader.

    1. Spurious point Helena, showing you invent your own version of this blog. You pose dictator, leader, Fabianism none at issue, nor part of this argument – because socialism involves whole communities who work and debate together to build a better society. Leaders emerge because they are shown (and acknowledged) to pursue the best ideas, but they would be constantly tested in order to retain leadership/support.

    2. Socialism should start in the workplace and evolve through organisations to finally be the principles of govt.
Voting once every three years is a system where for most of the time politicians do as their wealthy masters dictate.
Too many lobbyist with the power of wealth.

  2. You can make laws to outlaw behavior that is not acceptable but laws do not change the human heart. We know there is a kingdom coming that will provide equality to all but it is not by following the failing systems currently in use.

    1. Piffle Bonnie. The “human heart’ is not an abstract ahistorial entity but in your terms, feelings, and these are shaped by the particular society we live in. It’s hard to look outside our conditioning but Dave’s blog is giving you an opportunity to do this.

  3. This blog is highly relevant to the times we live in. Many are considering the impact of covid-19 on the way we organise our communities. The possibilities are now affected by the world-wide protests over Black Lives Matter. What you explain Davebrownz is vitally important to how and what we weigh up regarding the changes needed. Then to action!
