  1. Ben Morgan’s analysis is strong on the technical sides of the superpower build up to fighting a war in the Pacific, military strategies and capabilities, balance of forces and military tactics, missile range and accuracy, force projection and area denial, etc etc.
Ben’s analysis is weak on examining the reasons for it. (well non-existent really).

But make no mistake war is coming. War is not a choice for market economies but an imperative. China’s market economy is facing economic implosion.

Not able to peaceably expand into new markets and territories, by their economic and military rivals, the only alternative is a resort to force.
The aggressor will always plan for their resort to force to be limited or, over within a few days or weeks. “To change the reality on the ground,” is how they put it. The idea is to present their rivals with a fait accompli. The aggressor banks, that their major military rivals will not choose to escalate into a major global peer to peer conflict to reverse that fait accompli. Sometimes the aggressor miscalculates, or overstretches, and their rival escalate to a peer to peer war.

Politics is cocentrated economics, War is concentrated politics (by other means).

  2. US Bullshit exposed over talks to supply F16s to Vietnam.
The new deal with Vietnam to directly supply that country with F16s compared to the continuing refusal to directly supply F16s to Ukraine, and only reluctantly allowing their allies to do so, reflects US imperialism’s prioritising their strategic interests in the Pacific region, over the defence of Ukraine.
After more than a year of “desperately’ pleading by the Ukrainian president, the US has finally given the Netherlands and other NATO countries permission to supply Ukraine with F16 fighter jets.
The US made jets are owned and operated under licence agreements with the US that forbid their export to third parties, without US approval.

US signals to allies it won’t block their export of F-16 jets to Ukraine

“…A handful of European countries have a supply of the US-made F-16s, including the Netherlands, which has signaled a willingness to export some of them to Ukraine. But the US would have to approve that third party transfer because of the jets’ sensitive US technology….

Weirdly, concerns about the transfer of “the jets’ sensitive US technology” doesn’t seem to have bothered the US in talks with Vietnam about directly supplying their former enemy with F16s.

The deal being struck with Vietnam to supply that country with US made F16s, is notable for also including a resource deal with Vietnam to supply the US with the rare earth minerals that Vietnam has in abundance that the US needs for its defence and IT industries.
Vietnam is unique in the world in its abundance of mineral resources, as the country is basically a delta washed from the Himalaya Mountains over millions of years. A fact that has made Vietnam a sought after colonial possession, invaded and fought over by foreign imperialist powers French, Japanese, American and Chinese.
At great cost and sacrifice the Vietnamese people successfully rid their country of foreign colonial domination from all comers.
We can only hope that this new deal is more equitable and rewarding for Vietnam than the direct brutal and rapacious colonial occupation by the French, US and Japanese imperialists was.
