GUEST BLOG: Arthur Taylor – Prison spreads rumours to stop inmates contacting authorities
The Howard League for penal reform ( Wellington Branch ) has always been helpful to inmates – if they know about them . I gave the League’s address to an inmate at Auckland Womens’ Prison , and several others also wrote to the League as a result . Staff subsequently have spread rumours that if inmates contact the League , it will go against them at their Parole hearing .
This is rubbish , & the League will be writing about it in its next newsletter . If you know inmates at ARWCP , tell them there is nothing to fear in contacting the League .
