I have been self employed for 9 1/2 years now.
Last month had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists at same time.
Went to WINZ Henderson.
They have 3 sets of doors b4 u r in with the staff (so inner and outter lobby, the main room). Had 8:30am appointment. Turned up few mins early. The heartless c***s keep everyone (families with small kids, elderly, everyone) waiting in the cold winter rain till 8:30!
They have 5 security guards!
5!
And none of the hundred or so staff or the 5 security guards has the compassion 2 invite theses people, obviously people and families that need help, in from the winter weather into at least the 1st lobby!
I complained to every staff member I was in front of.
Heartless and sad to think the giant room full of WINZ staff can not see the right thing to do. Took me 1 visit 1 morning to see how needless that is. 5 security! More than any bank!
The whole thing was ugly. Made uglier by them telling me my online application was ‘in the system but some how couldnt be opened’ forcing a double wrist post op person to fill in the forms by hand with a pen… as if doing it with a keyboard 1st time around wasnt hard enough!
This blog was written anonymously as we don’t want WINZ punishing those who speak out against them.
Those security guards remind me of the guys I used to hurl spit balls at in class when they got a little bit of power.
Well problem is it is a job on minimim pay for all of them.

Beneficiaries are barley tolerable but grown arse men standing around doing sweet if all who can’t even engage there brains. Fucking standing around on strike would be right up these morons alley.
They can fill in forms on your behalf. “Can” of course doesn’t mean they *will*.

Wonder what would happen if EVERY NEW ZEALANDER had to deal with WINZ at least once in their comfortable, middle class lives. By god, we’d see changes happen quick smart!!
Re image – it’s an interesting myth that evil people are also ugly people. I suspect far more acts of evil have been committed by good looking people than unattractive people, especially leaders of countries.
Just one more example of how broken WINZ is, and how IRD would do a better job of paying out benefits. Abolish WINZ!
