  1. Ok yes the emissions are high with no real plan to lower the. The last NZ Royal Society meeting I attended on the IPCC report the subject of dairy emission was addressed with pathetic suggestions of changing gut bacteria.
So the scientific body is not addressing the causes but attempting to create confusion.
Dairy numbers need to fall. The govt is obviously scared to act towards that in an effective manner.
    So where do we go.
The pollution of ground water is becoming a human health issue.
Rivers are running low and even dry because of irrigation.
Where dairy intensive farming is practiced with irrigation and fertilizer the NZ map of polluted rivers and ground water match the dairy development so its not just an emission problem.

The political football is being played out with the strongest team being farmers forced by banks to stuff up the environment, and the opposition seeking to protect the environment has minor backing but rigorous science behind it.

How does the Govt move towards cleaning up some of the growing mess.

The farming has to be changed.
Public support for this needs to be loud and clear as its not just emissions and river / lake / ground aquifer / marine nursery destruction, but loss of species and climate change as well as the Kiwi living space.
