  1. WTF!!!!
complacent fool that I am I thought this was settled years ago.
When National first suggested it a record number of people publicly demonstrated against the idea and actually caused a backdown.
My understanding in 2017 was Labour gave a guarantee that there would not be any mining on conservation land.
What then about the guarantee that no further oil exploration permits in New Zealand waters would be granted? Was that what was meant or did I miss something?
What of our anti-nuclear legislation? A few year back was the hundredth birthday of the New Zealand Navy. American and British ships arrived without comment or hindrance from the government. Of course ever since the 1950s US military aircraft use Christchurch as a base for flights to and from Antartica.
When can we expect a nuclear power station to open?
I really need a cuppa and lie down now.

  2. Labour pushed the West Coast into tourist industry and took away their timber industry without giving them a slice of the GST they raised to help with toilets and other roadside amenities. Now they are feeling the pinch of having all there eggs in one basket. If mining is done with care and a long term plan as many sites in England . This government has foolishly stop the search for gas and are now planning to import both gas and coal from Australia
