Game of Drones – the options being mooted for the new Drone Party for National
Last night Simon Bridges acknowledged for the first time that National were actively seeking a new Drone Party to help National take power in 2020.
TDB has been pointing this strategy out for over 3 months.
The plan is to create a new shell political party, elevate a strong current National MP into leadership of that shell party, give that MP a clear run in a super safe National electorate and allow the coat tailing feature of MMP to do the rest.
That would allow National plus the shell Party to become the Government.
Talking to sources close to the strategy, here are the options being mooted.
- Conservative party with Mark Mitchell as Leader running in Rodney
- A new Blue/Greens with Amy Adams as Leader running in Selwyn
- A new Chinese Migrant Party
The last one has faded as a possibility because of the sudden focus of Chinese influence inside the National Party and a realisation that having a Chinese Spy inside their Caucus is already proving to be a negative media talking point.
It took the Left 3 terms to figure out tactics to beat a popular leader, the right won’t take that long at all.
The Left are floundering and stalling, the latest Polls are evidence of that. The Labour Leadership need some killers in the back room because they simply don’t have the brains to do the dark arts. Yes the Left are great at ripping each other to pieces in Twitter feuds, but they are shit fighting the Right.

I’m beginning to think that parties of the left will always fail while neo liberalism,fully supported by the media, is the dominant doctrine in the world
Parties of the left attract all the aspirations and hopes of idealists, radicals, the poor, and simply those who long for a fairer and kinder world.
They will always be disappointed by any parliamentary party, who to survive in the face of a hostile media and a predominant economic ideology have to water their policies down , compromise and eat rats.
Without a fully informed populace, incrementalism is the name of the game
