  1. Cannot disagree with any of your ideas Martyn, however it will scare the bejesus out of the money owners.

    1. I hope it does bert. I hope it does put the frighteners on the money changers and lenders. They have it coming.

  2. Absent a party to vote for who stands for anything remotely like this, it probably wont work, because NACT, LINO & TRYLU amazingly the Greens, won’t do this, unless it’s already obviously way too late.
So who can we vote for to signal our agreement with this; sadly NO ONE !!
Thus IMHO it fails to be even born let alone into power and try and ‘fix it’..
Someone PLEASE set up a political party ‘Pa Aotearoa’ or similar and let’s vote for it and start this much needed action.
Otherwise IMHO we’re just wasting ‘ink’

  3. Massive tree planting across previous farming land.

If that refers to the tinder-box pine plantations, then this is wrong. They are harmful to our environment in multiple ways. As well, the Carbon Credits Scheme needs to be looked at much more closely – who it is benefitting.

    1. That’s not the objective. The objective is to pull about at least 100 parts per million of c02 from the atmosphere. If we don’t, everything will die 100%.

        1. My view of climate change is informed by my lived experience of a successful cancer treatment plan.

          1. Where trees are to be planted (all good) then native forests, or else fruit trees/ orchards etc – Food producing.

Also, ‘family farms’ or smaller farms, as I posted earlier .

From that link: “We can create a strong stable food system that can withstand a pandemic, global economic pressure, and help the climate.

“Independent family farms and diverse, decentralized ownership of food production, distribution and farmland are the solutions to climate change”.

          2. Sorry to hear about your ‘big C’ op/ treatment, Sam.
I wish you all strength and best health, now and in the future.

          3. It is mathematical impossible to genocide corona. Can’t even cultural genocide maori and that’s a level below a public health crises. But I can tell you how it is possible. So what’s your solution?

    2. Agree Kheala, and the loss of productive land as well. And massive costs in ongoing wilding control.
The pine planting scheme as it stands is poison.

  4. We need an improved Civil Defence system for dealing with the increasingly frequent weather events. Westport has been devastated. The army was helping, but they had to leave to get back to their Covid/ border duties.

  5. Fifty years of mendacity and promotion of the interests of banks and corporations -and totally ignoring every warning given about the likelihood of Planetary Meltdown- have now got us to exactly where the people who warned had indicated: accelerating Planetary Meltdown.

But even accelerating Planetary Meltdown is not enough to deter the maniacs (the madmen and madwomen) that constitute the political core of NZ (and practically every other nation), and youy can be quite certain that will persist with forcing on the populace the very policies that make everything worse faster.

These mad bastards -Jacinda Adern, Grant Robertson, Andrew Little etc. that make up LIONO and the mad bastards that make up the other political parties- are purely concerned with self-aggrandisement and what they can loot from the public purse, and couldn’t give a damn what damage they do in the process. They will only stop when they have totally wrecked everything, and will continue to lie egregiously until that point is reached.

What is so amazing is that the populace continues to support people with zero credibility.

  6. I love the fines for exploitation of workers and having illegal/cash workers in the construction industry! (Sarcasm).

That will send a message, with a paltry 2500k fine for using illegal migrant labour with a sole director Dacheng Zhao! Even the right wing mags, seem surprised at how low it is. Keep ramping up production with illegal labour seems to be the message.

Illegal migrant working seems supported by government, but where are all the profits going, cos they don’t seem to be trickling down in either prices or efficiency of NZ construction!

Third Employer Charged As A Result Of Immigration New Zealand’s Construction Sector Compliance Work
    https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/BU2107/S00100/third-employer-charged-as-a-result-of-immigration-new-zealands-construction-sector-compliance-work.htm

Nothing from the Greens and Labour, worker exploitation is off their radar as long as they can get 3 homes with 1.8 million of government money for housing the mentally ill! And 2.7 mil for Harry Tam, “seig heil” is ok to sign off for some in NZ for the Greens!

Turning a blind eye has been happening for a while!

“Nearly half of the 11,000 migrant exploitation and fraud tipoffs sent to Immigration New Zealand were not investigated in the six years to 2017.

From the 5700 cases that were investigated, less than 150 prosecutions were made.

Almost 500 cases, some four-years-old, remained open, according to figures released under the Official Information Act.”

Auckland building boss charged with fraud after investigation into illegal labour
The boss of an Auckland building company charged with immigration fraud lives in a $2.3m home and drives a late model Porsche.
Operation Spectrum also uncovered a weakness in border security whereby 15 people previously deported or who fled from New Zealand were able to return under new identities.

Chai is one of two individuals who allegedly went to obtain permanent residency.

Good to see the rich are getting richer off illegal activity which once identified has now become the norm in NZ!

    1. The thing about disasters is that they create new opportunities for exploiters to exploit both the victims of the disaster and the the environment.

‘More than 100 homes in Westport are now expected to be declared uninhabitable following the devastating floods.’

      https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/national/westport-flooding-leaves-100-homes-unlivable-medium-term-housing-sought/ar-AAMseuo?ocid=msedgntp

And under the idiotic GDP system, all the commercial activity involved in attempting to restore living conditions to how they were before the disaster is described as ‘economic growth’ and adds to CO2 burden that caused the disaster inn the first place.

A system that is as dysfunctional as the one operating in the ‘developed world’ is both doomed to failure and causing the doom of humanity (and most other species).

As commented previously, the maniacs that operate and promote this idiotic economic system will not relent.

It’s a wonder they haven’t augmented “Greed is good” with “Disasters are good” [for banks, corporations and opportunists]..

      1. “Disasters are good”

Isn’t that what they said about Jacinda?
“She was so lucky! She had all those disasters!”
… some of the comments on this site said that, pre-2020 election.
Some of the radio jocks were saying something to that effect too.

  7. Pretty much agree with the sentiment and all of that list, Martyn! Love it when you keep reminding us and the media and the politicians. Keep it up!
